Max's pov

I heard a light knock on my door. "Max." My dad said walking into my room.

"Yeah dad. What ya need?" I smiled warmly.

"Just checking up on you. Is everything okay? You didn't eat dinner." He said calmly but you could hear the worry in his voice.

"Yeah, I'm okay. Just tired." I reassured him. "Okay." I want you in bed early tonight. You have school tomorrow, remember." He told me. I nodded my head. He left the room.

I sighed and looked at my watch.

7:45.

Well, better get a shower since I have to go to bed early.

"Max! Get up your gonna be late!" I groaned and climbed out of bed. I went to my walk in closet and picked out a pair of basketball ball shorts and a camo under armer shirt, with black Nike high tops and my black and white skull cap. I went to the bathroom and did my morning routine, brush my teeth, my hair, wash my face. I left my hair down letting my natural, brunette hair and blonde highlights, curls and wave flow. I put the cap on backwards.

I walked to the door and grabbed my black messenger bag(one staple shoulder bag) and walked downstairs. I plastered a smile on my face, but it faltered when I saw my step-mother. Ugh...

I grabbed and apple and my key to my 1987 gray Ford.

I know old but it's my baby, that and my skateboard and camera.

I walked outside before anyone could stop me. I drove the 15 minutes to school listening to Luke Bryan, AC\DC, Joan Jett, and George Strait.

I pulled into the parking lot. I sat there for a minute. I grabbed my bag and got out of my pickup. I had about 10 minutes till school starts. I leaned against my pickup and looked around.

I took in a deep breathe. I heard a loud engine from a distance. Everyone's attention was now drawn to the sound. A group of 5 came up on motorcycles. I just looked away, thinking they're just trying to get attention.

The engines were turned off. Everyone surrounded them, except me I just walked toward the school entrance. I didn't even look back.

Locker #81.

It's a good thing I know this school like the back of my hand.

I had 3 minutes left till my first period.

I went to my locker and put everything I didn't need in it. I put a little plate that I welded this summer.

When I was done I headed to class. There were a few people in the class but not many.

I took a seat in the back and grabbed my note book and pens. I sat back as the bell wrung and kids flooded in.

"Okay class, I am your new teacher, Mrs. Rain. Today we will start off...." I kind of zoned out after that.
