Shane's pov-

"You can date my daughter. I trust you with her. Don't break that trust."

I smiled being overjoyed.

"Thank you sir, thank you so much! I won't disappoint you. You have my word." I said shaking his hand.

"Would you stop calling me sir and come inside?"

I nodded my head, yes. I walked in the house it was a two story house. I looked around not knowing what room to go in.

"Up the stairs, to the left, third door on your right." Maxs dad told me. I nodded and made my way up to Max's room.

I knocked on the door. I heard shuffling then the door opened. Max looked at me in shock. She opened the door wider so I could come in.

I walked in and saw that, it was different from a normal girls room- not that she isn't normal- she had a punching bag in the corner, basketball, football, baseball, and softball posters all autographed. Blue background with neon green and turquoise paint splatters.

There were also pictures everyehere in her room and drawings ,too. I was to busy looking at the room to notice Max watching on her bed. I smiled and layed down next to her. She curled into me putting her hand on my chest.

Soon enough her breathing got slower and more calm. She was asleep. My phone vibrated. I took it out of my back pocket and read the text.

Did you ask her? -Jay.

Not yet but when the time is right I will. - Shane.

I replied smiling. I have to make it special, I know exactly how. I smiled at my thoughts. Darkness started to take over.

*******

"Ahhhh!!!!!" I heard someone scream bloody murder. I jumped falling off the bed. I rubbed the back of my head. Just as I was about to get up, Max's dad came in swinging a bat around like a crazy man! I put my hands up in surrender.

"Dad!! What are you doing?" Max yelled.

"I heard someone scream, I panicked." He said looking at me.

"He just startled me. I forgot he was here last night." Max said taking the bat from her dad.

"Did you guys sleep in the same bed?" He asked eyeing us weirdly.

"No." Max lied easily, like she has done it before. I don't know why but I feel like it's about her past... I probably find out soon enough.

Her dad nodded and slowly walked out of the room. Finally letting me relax.

"So..... what do you want to do?" She asked breaking the awkward silence

"What can we do?"

"We can.... go swimming?" She suggested. I smiled and nodded. I kind of want to know what she looks like in a bikini.

She smiled. I then realized I don't have a swimsuit.

"I don't have a swim suit."

"Hold on. I'll be back. Don't leave." She said sternly. I nodded. She left the room and came back 3 minutes later with a black pair of swimming trunks.

"Will these do?" She asked holding them up. I nodded she tossed them to me. "Go to the bathroom and change." I got up and went to the bathroom. I changed into the swimsuit and came out.

Max was already dress and ready.

She was wearing a blue cover shirt that has the sleeves cut off and has holes, that looks like they were from working, in the back. She is also wearing basketball shorts and with old running shoes on.

She hand me some tennis shoes. Surprisingly they fit. She grabbed her phone and walked toward the window. She opened the window and crawled out. I walked over and watched as she got to the edge.

What is sh-

She jumped.

I carefully crawled out of the window and crawled toward the edge. I looked down, probably only 6'0 from the ground. Max stood there waiting. If she can do it, I can do it better.

I jumped off and landed on my feet.

She smiled. "C'mon. Follow me." She said and started running. We went through this valley and through some trees. We ran probably about 2 miles, and she's hardly out of breathe. While I am panting...not a lot but some.
