Me and Hyun Woo were hanging around the benches near the stairs and under a big tree. We each showed off our lunches and I had to admit, Hyun Woo's lunch looked really good! So good that I would've probably stole it, but as we all know, that would be rude and mean as a friend.
"So, what was it that you were going to say earlier in school," I asked. Hyun Woo stared at me, realizing that he was going to say something in the beginning. He smiled and reached into his pocket of his school shirt and pulled out a very interesting pendant.
"What I was going to say earlier was that your necklace that you showed me looked a lot like mine. Coincidence eh," Hyun Woo smiled. I looked at it in a closer view and he was right, it did look a bit like mine. It had me wondering, was he a witch too? Impossible...men can't be witches...can they? (Not being sexist here .-.)
"Um...Seoul....you're kind of freaking me out at they way you're looking at my pendant," Hyun Woo says. I blink and look at him. I laugh nervously and back out away from his necklace, scratching my head.
"Sorry, it just looks...um...very interesting." He tucks his pendant back into pocket and continues to eat his lunch, as well as I. My aunt's food is always the best! Such tender and juicy goodness in her cooking. Especially in her kimchi. It is just the bomb! Hyun Woo got up from his chair and says to me," I'm gonna quickly throw this wrapper away ok?" I nod as he steps down the stairs to throw away is garbage.
As I'm about to finish my lunch, someone slams my kimchi down to the ground along with my aunt's brownies. It happened so suddenly that I could've sworned that I saw it happen in slow motion. I look up to see three boys and it's leader. Jungmin. I stood up quickly and stayed out of his own reach.
"Oh I'm sorry...did I just disturb your lunch," he sarcastically saddened. I clench my teeth and my fist. I could feel my aura begin to fire up as well as my eyes. I looked down at my now dirty food as I could see such sadness in them. All I could say was..that food shouldn't have to be treated this way.
"What...makes you think...that you can go up in my business...AND DESTROY MY FOOD!!," I yelled. But they just laughed and laughed. Jungmin suddenly grabbed both of my wrists and hit me against they wall. I struggled and wiggled for myself to get free but his grip was tight. I thought to myself, if only I could use a spell, I could be free. But I can't risk letting my identity be seen. I tried to kick him and even tried to lay my weight on him to make Jungmin to fall back.
I could feel tears develop in my eyes, seeing a smirk on Jungmin and his other two friends, just standing there. I then could feel Jungmin begin to unbutton my jacket then onto untying my tie and shirt. One of his friends lifted up a phone and I could see one flash strike upon my eye.
"This should teach you a lesson for messing with me little girl," Jungmin smiled. I clenched my eyes...my teeth. They were taking pictures of me in my bra, chest opened, and against Jungmin. I prayed to the Witch goddess. I prayed for someone to help me. Tears rolled my cheek. I couldn't take more of this.
"Wait till this goes around the school or the world. We'll be famous," one of Jungmin's friend laughs. Before he take a fifth picture, a slash of a blue, sparkling cloud goes through his head. The cloud is inhaled my him and he falls to the ground. Jungmin and his other friend looks back and another blue cloud injects them. They both fall to the ground, laying still like time has stopped. I look over to who or what was making those clouds. At the mid stairway, I see a person in a dirt brown cloak, with a wand and a book in their right hand. From my eyes perspective, I saw a very light blue and purple glowing around them. They closed their book and the glow disappeared. They ran up the stairs and towards me.
"Are you ok," they asked. I nod as they grabbed my hand, leading me to a safer place, a gym room where the equipment was placed.
"We should be safe in here. Hopefully they don't know where we are," they say. Before I could say something, they kneeled down towards me and took their hood off. To my surprise, I was shocked at who it was. It was Hyun Woo.
"H...Hyun Woo," I say, confused. He awkwardly smiles, scratching his temple(the side of your head).
"Surprise....yeeeaaa I'm a wizard ," he giggled. I lightly punched him on the shoulder as I tried to button up my shirt again.
"Not funny," I pouted. He chuckles an pats my head, pushing up his glasses.
"Sorry I didn't tell you. It was you know...a very personal thing that ran in the family." I looked at him deeply and for some reason, I began shaking. I didn't know why. Was it because I couldn't handle someone who is similar like me? Or is it the embarrassment of him looking at me, struggling to button up my own shirt...? My hands were ice cold and my body was trembling like crazy.
As I could feel another tear stream down my cheek, a warm hand is placed onto mine. I stop and look up. Hyun Woo is smiling. He looks down and helps button up my shirt. I could feel a burst of flames fill up my cheek as he helps me. We get to the last button and unexpectedly, he suddenly brings me into a big bear hug. Now that only made the blushing worse. But weird thing was...I didn't see it as a weird thing. I just took it all in and shrugged it off.
We hugged for quite a while. It made my trembling cold body warm up due to the cold gym storage room. He then pulls away and scratches his head.
"Sorry about that hug Seoul...must've made you embarrassed huh," he apologizes. I smiled and placed my hand onto his shoulder.
"That's ok Hyun Woo. It felt very heart warming," I smiled. He giggles a little and brings a finger near my eyes.
"You had a little something there," he chuckled, wiping off a small tear.
"Thanks. But I'm pretty sure I could've done it my self," I assured him.
We ended up staying in the gym storage room longer than we have thought, but in reality, it was worth it. Before we left, I couldn't help, but to tell Hyun Woo the truth about me. Sure, it may seem kind of dumb but in a way, he's shown who he really is and I just thought that maybe, I'd do the same. We are on the same levels right?
Before he opened the door, I grabbed his shirt and he looks back.
"Something wrong Seoul," he asks. I clench my grey skirt and took a few deep breaths. My heart was pounding like crazy since my Aunt Kim told me to keep it secret and to NEVER tell anyone. I knew I was going to disgrace her but this was something I needed to do in exchange for Hyun Woo revealing himself as a wizard.
"I...um..I think I need to tell you something...a-about me," I stuttered, nervously about how he might react. At first he was confused, but then, he chuckled and placed both hands on my shoulders.
"You're a witch...aren't cha," he smiled. My eyes widen in shock and my face began to burn.
"H-h-how did you know?!"
"I recognize that necklace of yours anywhere. It's what we wizards learn." He pats my head and I just felt the need to punch him in the gut. But I didn't cause that would be rude.
He walked me back home and as I stood on my front porch, we waved good-bye to each other. We both soon went our separate ways as I enter my humble home.
