~True Feelings~

Third POV

Midorima looked up from the book he was reading to find that his younger sister was no longer sitting next to him. He stood up with a sigh. His sister wasn't a kid anymore he thought but, she still pleaded for him to accompany her to the park. Somehow, she managed to convince him to go with her.

"Nii-chan!" Shizuko called out to him. Another girl followed her from behind.

Midorima's eyes widened when his gaze met the [hair colour] haired girl's [eye colour] eyes. Shizuko stopped in front of him to introduce her new found friend. Midorima kept silent, pushing up his glasses while looking away.

"It's nice to meet you again, Shin . ." the girl said with a sweet smile on her face. "This is a nice coincidence."

"I-It's good to see you again as well, [First name]. Not that I care, nanodayo . ." Midorima pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose again to hide his red cheeks. You can't help but giggle at his antics.

"Haven't changed at all, have you?" [First name] smiled.

"Ehh?? You two know each other?" Shizuko cut in surprise.

Well, it's a long story.

When you were in kindergarden . .

You kept playing police and thief with the other kids, unaware of the green haired boy that kept looking your way. He sat on a bench, reading a book about horoscopes. At some point, you noticed him when your gazes met several times. You wondered why he was all alone.

You ran up to him with a big smile. You crept up behind him and snatched the book.

"What are you doing?" Midorima turned around. He blushed at the sight of you. Your eyes were sparkling in amazement. A broad smile of amusement was on your lips.

"Can you tell me more about this book?" you asked sitting down next to him. Midorima was surprised to hear that. For the first time, someone didn't tease him about his interest. Much more, he was happy that the person is his crush. But, being the tsundere he is . . He never told you of course.

Since then, you always joined him at the same bench under the tree. You liked to tease him and take his spectacles away. You developed a very close friendship with him. You became best of friends up until elementary school. That was the time he found out about Oha Asa. He started buying lucky items for you every day. You thought it was very sweet of him but, you never realized his true feelings.

"I brought you your lucky item for today, [First name]." Midorima hands you a weird looking alarm clock. You accepted it with a smile.

"Arigatou, Shin . ." You said in a low tone. Midorima moticed the sad look on your face.

"What's wrong, [First name]?" he asked. You looked down while playing with your fingers.

"We're moving . ." That shocked Midorima. Your eyes got teary and you started to sob quietly. You didn't want to leave. You would really miss him. At the moment, you felt very hurt by the situation. Midorima patted you head as he looked down as well.

On the day of your move, all of your friends came to say their goodbyes but, Midorima was nowhere in sight. You waved to your friends one last time before getting in the car. Your dad was already about to drive off when he came with an emotionless face. He gave you a necklace that he mentioned was for good luck. The locket had a photo of the both of you during one of your star gazing nights at the nearby hill. You cried as you pulled him into a hug. He blushed but, quickly coughed to cover it up.

"Don't be such a cry baby, nanodayo." He pushed his glasses up.

You wiped you tears and held out you pinky finger. "Best friend forever, okay . ."

He was disappointed. He liked you since the very first day of kindergarden but, you only see him as a friend. Nothing more . . He linked his pinky with yours, trying to hide his disappointed look.

"This is childish . ." he said looking away. You laughed at that.

Now, you sat next to him on a bench at the park. Shizuko has already went home. You looked up at the mixture of arrange, yellow, purple and red in the late evening sky. There was an awkward silence between the two of you. You took a quick glance to the megane beside you. A hint of blush was barely visible on his cheeks. That sent you heart racing. For many years, you never felt that way about him.

"Ne, Shin . . Remember that locket you gave me when we were little?" you broke the silence.

"Yes . . What about it?"

You pulled you hair back to let him see the shiny locket he gave you around your neck. You beamed him a smile that made him blush a darker shade of red. Midorima was happy but, frowned when he remembered that you only see him as a friend. He quickly looked away.

"Best friends forever, okay . ." you said the same sentence as before. "I wish I said the real thing that I wanted to say back then."

Midorima looked into your eyes. Butterflies built up inside your stomach. You missed him so much for many years. You felt the guilt in you when you didn't have the guts to tell him about you true feelings back then.

"I was a baka . . It took me months of missing you before I realized how much I liked you. Shin," you placed you head on his shoulder. "Daisuki . ."

"[First name] . ."

"Shin likes me too, right . . haha . . I found out what the locket means from Oha Asa!" you laughed. It was so cute of him to confess in such a secretive way back then. "By the way, there's 'Daisuki' written at the back of the photo in your handwriting. You kept looking at me since kindergarden."

"Baka . . Stop saying all of that out loud!" You laughed at his reaction.

"Eh? So, you like me?" you pretended to be hurt. He stood up. You thought he was angry but, he held you hand with his back towards you.

"I do like you, baka." You couldn't help but smile at his tsundereness. But, it was hard for him to hide all those feelings towards you. You pinched his cheeks from behind.

"Shin is such a tsundere . ." That ended with you teasing him.

~End
