Hello, people of Wattpad, this is my entry in Wattpad Romance's one-shot Holiday contest. Enjoy and please leave feedback. Thank you.

New Year sucks. In fact, every freaking holiday sucks right now. Big time. My life is a complete mess, I just broke up with my four months cheating boyfriend a week ago, flunked my chemistry exam—big surprise—, and was just having one of the worst kind of fights with my parents. Let's just say that I'm grounded, for two whole months, starting from tomorrow, January the first, first day of the new year. Yay me.
I only have today to do whatever I want. I'm not planning to have a good night, I'm planning to have a crazy one. A one that I'll remember during the upcoming two months, or probably three if I get caught doing something I shouldn't be doing tonight.
The thought itself makes me beam like a newborn sunflower.
I pick up my phone and dial my best friend's number. She picks up immediately. "Hey, Jessie. What's crackin'?
I sigh. "Parents just grounded me for two months. Wanna head out? I only have tonight for fun."
"Oh, man. About chemistry, right?"
"Aha," I say walking to my closet as I grab something to wear.
"Alright, Kyle and I will be at your house in an hour." I groan. Not Kyle. I can't stand him. Dee laughs even though I've said nothing, she knows. "He'll be good, I'll make sure of it." I sigh hating that I'm agreeing to this. Kyle and I never get along, we fight like cats and dogs, all the time.
He's an annoying, self-centered, cocky freak. I want to smash his head with the boot I'm holding.
Whoa, I need to lighten up before I see him.
"You know for a fact that we'll kill each other, Dee. I'll find something else to do. Plus, your boyfriend has been trying to set me up with his boys just to tick me off ever since I dumped DJ!" I whine and she chuckles.
"He's just trying to help, Jess. Look, I'll make sure we come alone, alright? And when we get to the party, I'll ditch him to have some girls time, how's that?"
"Fine," I spit out. "Where are we going, anyway?" She tells me about a party held by one of the seniors of our school and it sounds cool enough to let me hang up on her, get dressed in a fitted, dark purple, mid-thigh sweater that is belted around the waist with a black leather belt, leggings, and a flat, black leather, ankle boots.
I stand in front of the mirror and add little curls to my dark, short hair. I apply a little bit of makeup, the usual, mascara, a little blush, and a cherry color lip balm. It tastes yummy. I throw it in my purse because I know I'll lick it off once I'm in the car.
An hour later, Dee texts me and I head for the door, wearing my leather jacket and telling mom where I'll be. I never leave the house without telling them, you never know what could happen. Anyhow, I scan the neighborhood with my eyes and I'm surprised to find Dee sitting in a car that is not hers or Kyle's. I'm stuck between feeling angry and confused as I click the door open, and sit beside Dee at the back. "Hey," I greet them and check the guy who's in charge of the steering wheel. Not Kyle for sure. A person that I am very much aggravated by.
