Mr Langlois: Finally we're here at Washington Middle School.

We all ran inside. It was hard to remember which Mr Langlois helped us. When we got to the cluster we saw Yari and Jomara hugging Jaquay.

Yari: Leijah where have you guys been?

Me and Leijah told them what had happened with Middletown. I only told them a little bit of what had happened to me. They were awed asking us if it was scary. When we finished telling the story they told us one.

Yari: So you guys want to hear what happened here while you were gone.

Kia: Ok

Jomara: Well it's not that epic but here it goes. The teachers panicked and took jobs. Mr Dlubac is the doctor. Mr Langlois helped secure the cluster. Mrs Mulligan is cooking some food for us all to eat. Mr Bredehorst is on security.

Yari: Well it's not really a story but, we learned that so far. Oh yeah also looks like all our families are in bunkers near the military.

Krystiana: What!

Jomara: Mr Bredehorst got a radio working.

Kia: Then how come they didn't get us yet.
Jomara: They said something about getting elders and really young kids first. Then they'd get to the middle school and highschool kids.

Leijah: They should be getting us almost first.

Kia: What do you mean by almost.

Leijah: I'd get the elementary kids first because they're young and can't provide for themselves.

Krystiana: True

Danaiyla: When do you think they're coming for us.

Tamaia: Soon I hope.

Madie: So what do we do now.

Danaiyla: Join a teacher learn and protect.

Krystiana: I don't know which group I want to join though.

Danaiyla: How about we make a list.

Kia: Ok a got a piece of paper and pen.

Danaiyla: Who wants to help Mr Dlubac take care of sick patients.

Madie, Tamaia, Emily, Kate, Donnae, and Annie raised their hand.

Leijah: Only 6 people wow.

Danaiyla: Ok who wants to help Mrs Mulligan cook food for everyone.

Jalyssa, Kailey, Natalie, Lizzy, and Ellie wanted to cook.

Jalyssa: I can understand that only 5 want to cook.

Danaiyla: What about shielders.

Tyson: What stupid name is shielders.

Danaiyla: How about protectors.

Tyson: I could live with that.

Evan, Chris, Ernesto, Tyson, Gerry.

Yari: Hey Danaiyla

Danaiyla: Yeah

Yari: Me and Jomara aren't gonna choose I don't want my only family left to get hurt.

Danaiyla: I understand that's ok.

Leijah: So the last one who wants to join Mr Bredehorst and become security.

Leijah: Wait but what about if we want to do more than one.

Danaiyla: I don't really know I guess we can do as many as we want.

Leijah: Ok now it's time to learn what we can do to make sure everyone is safe.....

Tyson: You sound like my grandma uggh boring.

Leijah looked at Tyson like she was trying not to kill him. We could all tell she was trying not to. We all went our separate ways. It was kind of weird asking a teacher to teach us. It was smart though.

Leijah: Um hi Mr Bredehorst do you think you can um teach us so we can help you with security.

Mr Bredehorst: What do you mean security.

Leijah: I'm not in the mood for games.

Mr Bredehorst: Ok so what do you want to know?

Kia: I don't know

Mr Bredehorst: Then I can't teach you.

Danaiyla: We'd like to know how to protect ourselves and others.

Mr Bredehorst: It's kind of simple but, there are some techniques I can show you.

Krystiana: Ok I'm ready

Mr Bredehorst: Smiley .......

Leijah: We're not in class Mr B

Mr B: Ok so the first one is easy. Say you have a spear or something long and pointy. I know long and pointy get over it. Take the back make it go down and bring the tip into the zombies head.

Danaiyla: I think that's a easy one that we've done already.

Mr B: Ok then you teach them.

Danaiyla: Well I know one more. When a zombie is close don't grab it's hair. Since the scalp is decomposing it's more likely the hair will fall off. Also it feels no pain unless it's the brain.

Mr B: That's it wow............

Danaiyla: Wait I know one more. When in combat grab ahold of it's neck. By taking hold of the neck it can't really bite you. You have to be careful though or your hand will go in it's mouth.

Mr B: Got any more?

Danaiyla: Nope I'm done

Mr B: Ok so we are going to be practicing in the gym. Only when Mr Langlois is able to take my post.

Krystiana&Kia: Wait real zombies!!?

Mr B: Yeah unless you don't want to fend for yourself.

Danaiyla: Can he take your post now or no?

Leijah: No nigga we already almost got killed out there. Why would you want to go back.

Mr B: Ok ok one language and two no. So as I was about to say a zombie will always attack first. So your best defense is either your weapon or as Danaiyla said your hands. Ok well good night but, I have night duty so stay safe. See you guys tomorrow.

Leijah: I hope all the other meets with him don't end up like this one.

Danaiyla: Why what happened?

Leijah: Nope I'm just gonna go to sleep. Good night you guys.

Danaiyla: Goodnight.

Don't ask me where we had to sleep. Well I'll just tell you. We either had to sleep on the floor, desks, or counters. I was lucky to snag some desks that were in the back of the room. I was getting used to this messed up crazy life. One day I'm in school the next I'm killing a zombie. The worst part is we all missed our families. Some kids just cried for days other are trying to do what we are. Learning and surviving in this hostel environment.
