Tzuyu entered the dorm with a heavy sigh after returning from school. Korean was actually easier to learn compared to Chinese, but she couldn't really say that because she'd been speaking Chinese her whole life.
She walked into the room she shared with Dahyun and Chaeyoung, placing her bag on the floor and getting her homework out so that she could hopefully finish them before practice started. Well, maybe before anyone could disturb her while she was studying again - like how Momo did when she was studying for a Chemistry test by having a karaoke session in her room.
Dahyun and Chaeyoung went to a different school because she went to an international school. Sure, it was easier being in an international school because the teachers there spoke such that they could be understood easily, but that didn't mean the homework was as easy.
Tzuyu stared at the offending piece of paper before her with dread, and it seemed to stare right back at her with words looking like runes on the paper. She was never going to finish this before practice started.
Still, she had to at least attempt the worksheet, so she took out her pen and writing paper to write her answers. She never liked writing on the question paper itself, after all, who knows when you might make a mistake? She wanted her paper neat and clean.
The room was silent except for their song 'Truth' playing on Tzuyu's phone as she continued working on her homework. Soon enough, she heard the clicking sound of the door at the entrance and sighed as Jihyo shouted, "We're back!" in her boomerang voice.
"Where's Tzuyu?" Tzuyu heard Nayeon calling for her and ignored the calls as she tried to finish at least one more question before her unnie interrupted her peace. "I can hear 'Truth' playing! It's Tzuyu!!!" Nayeon exclaimed as she barged into the room, showing the others a confident smile as her prediction was right.
"What's up, Tzuyu? Is that homework?" Nayeon asked as she peered over Tzuyu's shoulder. Tzuyu simply gave a nod and tried to read the words on her worksheet while twirling her pen in her right hand. Keyword: tried. Nayeon lay on her bed, fiddling with her phone.
"Are we not going to practice soon?" Tzuyu asked, looking at the older girl. "Nope, Jihyo cancelled it because she had things to do." Nayeon replied casually.
Tzuyu didn't really want to bother her unnie, and neither did she want her unnie to bother her while she was studying, so she looked back at her worksheet and pretended to be able to read the foreign words on her homework. But that wasn't going to make her finish her work faster.
Finally, Tzuyu decided to give up. Why not ask for help from the oldest member of TWICE who was a native Korean?
"Unnie." Tzuyu called, and Nayeon looked up from her phone screen. "Yeah?"
"책방 (chaeg-bang) means desk?" Tzuyu asked. Nayeon got off her bed and walked over to look at Tzuyu's worksheet again. "No, 책방 (chaeg-bang) means bookstore. You got it mixed up with 책상 (chaeg-sang)." Nayeon replied, pointing out where Tzuyu had gone wrong with her answer.
"Oh, thanks." Tzuyu mumbled, going back to diligently writing her answers down on her paper. What surprised her was the sound of something being dragged on the floor. Tzuyu looked up from her papers to see Nayeon bringing a chair beside her and sitting down.
"What are you doing?" she asked. "If you need help, I'll be just beside you. Convenient, right?" Nayeon grinned. Tzuyu simply nodded her head. Oh my god, if she sits beside me I wouldn't be able to concentrate that well right? Stop staring at me writing down my answers, it's pressurizing! Is my handwriting nice enough to be looked at? Why am I even thinking about that? She's just checking if I'm writing the wrong answers. Yeah, she's just checking. Get your head together and finish your homework.
The both of them sat in silence until Nayeon decided to break it. "Hey Tzuyu," she started. "Yeah?" Tzuyu responded, not looking up from her papers. "Is there someone you're interested in? From TWICE?" Nayeon asked all of a sudden. Why did I ask that? Am I an idiot? Im Nayeon, you had one job and that job was to find out why Tzuyu's exceptionally nice to you!
"..." Tzuyu didn't respond immediately. What does she mean, someone I'm interested in? Did she find out that- haha, no no no Tzuyu, that can't be. Let's just answer vaguely. "I think everyone in TWICE is a person to be interested in."
Nayeon rolled her eyes. That's not it, Chou Tzuyu you idiot! "Then, is there any one person that catches your eye in TWICE?"
Why are you asking so many questions? You'll find out my feelings and reject me if you continue asking any more. "... Yes, there is." Tzuyu whispered and quickly slammed her pen on the table, surprising Nayeon. Tzuyu quickly packed her papers and pencilcase, placing them back into her bag. "I'm going to the mart with Momo-unnie for a while." she said quickly before rushing out of the room to drag Momo to the mart with her.
That's it for Part I, I think it's already quite obvious who Tzuyu's interested in. In all honesty, I think there's something wrong with the story (haha) so I hope you guys can tell me if there's something wrong and I'll try my best to correct it.
