Austin's POV:

"Austin! Come on Austin, would you just pay attention to me for once?" Miss Greenwood was shouting again.

This woman is honestly crazy if she thinks she can get me to listen to her, I thought silently to myself. All that was going into my ears and to my brain were sounds like the teacher from Charlie Brown "wha wa wha wha wha wa wa wha wa!" All I can keep thinking about is this girl. The girl. Her name is Lucy, even from hearing her name I thought about her straight away. We've been best friends since as long as I can remember and she's the only person in the world that knows my deepest darkest secrets. The memories of us as kids suddenly got cut off by Miss Greenwood, again. This time I was way out of my daydream state and that sucked.

"Pack away guys, it's about time for lunch" in a voice that I knew all too well.

I threw all of my books into my bag not caring what it looked like and zipped it up almost ripping the zip off too. I sprinted from that terrible classroom and that terrible teacher. (Pretty hard when all these people just stop right in front of you!) I wriggled my hand around the inside of my pocket, as I slowed down to try and find my phone.

"AHA" I shouted, with a big smile on my face, that got a few weird looks as I went down the corridor but I didn't care, seeing as I was the strangest guy in school anyway, I had to keep up my reputation somehow! I turned my phone on almost dropping it in a hurry and noticed a message appear straight away, could it be her? It gave me a warm feeling to know she texted me first, she must of been thinking about me. I went onto it as soon as I knew it was from her, it read "Meet me outside the usual area by the tree house we made as kids :) x"

I remember that tree house very well, we built it when the tree was quite old and so much taller than both of us. It was the only place me and her could go to play our secret spy mission game. I wonder if she remembers spying on Mrs Blundon from her office? Lucy saw her first and apparently she was throwing papers all around and setting them alight. If I could go back in the past and tell myself the tree would still be there 10 years later I would of done! I thought I would text back just so she knew I was alive at least, that made me smirk a little.

As I dodged all the people walking my way I tried to write out the words "I was just about to text the exact same thing and I can't wait to see you again x" then I sent it. I looked up every now and again just in case a teacher saw that I had my phone out, Hillsbury Secondary School has always been strict. As I came to the entrance of school I could just about see Lucy, sitting at the bottom of the tree in the distance, and she looked like she was laughing? I decided to sprint as fast as I could to get to her just to see what was going on.

She shouted over at me as she saw me coming "What's with the text Austin?" I ignored her, until she did that cute flick of her long honey blonde hair she always does. Her green eyes were like emeralds and they sparkled in the sunlight. She really didn't have to put on make up because I liked her much better when she was being her natural self, and out of all the secrets she knew, she definitely wasn't going to know this one. I knew she only wanted to be friends and I didn't really mind because there was no way I would pressure her into anything anyway.
