Falling...falling..falling...

The wind whipped past Annie at incredible speedand branches scratched her bare skin like claws. She closed her eyes and felt her eyelashes touch her cheeks as she shed a tear, thinking she would hit the ground any second, and sighing with relief when she felt only air whistle past her ears. Stretching her arms out and opening her eyes, Annie suddenly realised that she was in fact flying and her arms were covered in layers upon layers of feathers. . .

"OK, stay calm", Annie thought to herself, "It must be true, just like Theodora has rabbit feet you have owl wings that make you fly." She huffed in anger, "Oh what am I thinking, I don't have wings. Maybe I've died and gone to heaven. . ." she drifted off.

"Wooah! Ok then, it must be true. I nearly killed myself by hitting a tree." she jumped as she narrowly missed crashing into a collossal oak tree.

She panicked as she didn't know how to control her new limbs, plus, how could she do anything with wings in the place of her arms? Annie gave her wings a little flap as if she was waving her arms, and to her amazement, she gained control. She leaned a little to her right and stayed in that position until she turned round the other way.

"Wow," Annie thought,"This is amazing! I've mastered this flying thing REALLY quickly, like, in a few seconds!"

She flapped her wings and flew, just about making it to the others alive! She landed with a thump on the wooden platform.

"Annie! How did you do that?"

"Could you do that before?"

"I never knew!"

Questions came to Annie in hushed voices, and Annie was speechless and could not think how to reply, she was still in shock and awe!

"I don't think Annie is ready to answer any questions yet, guys." Theodora told everyone,"Let's just carry on walking until we find where Remmy thinks we're far away enough and somewhere safe, then we can settle down for the night."

"Thanks." Annie said to her.

                                                                           * * *

After a while, they stopped, and Annie couldn't see what was so special about this place, until she took another step forwards through a gap between two trees covered in ivy and vines, and she gasped.

It was absolutely beautiful.
