"So Ken, tell me about yourself.", said Ashton.
"Well, what do you want to know?"
"Hmmmmm.... What's your full name?"
"Kennedy Mary Joseph."
"What's your favorite food?"
"Definitely pizza."
"Worst fear."
"Breaking my wrists so I couldn't play the drums."
"Me too! Its like we're the same person!"
Did I mention that I looked a little like Ashton as well? I was on the taller side with curly dirty blonde hair. Pretty much the only difference in our faces were my eyes. I had ocean blue eyes.
"Do you play any instruments?"
"Yeah. I taught myself how to play the guitar, bass, and the piano. I sing a little but I play the drums mostly."
"No way! I play the drums! I'm actually in a band with my 3 best friends. We're called 5 Seconds of Summer. You'll have to listen some time."
"Ha ha that would be fun yeah. Okay Irwin, you've asked my questions, it's my turn."
"Lay 'em on me, Ken."
"Favorite color."
"Red."
"Favorite movie."
"Pursuit of Happiness."
"Favorite childhood memory.
"When I first played the drums in front of an audience."
This game went on for hours until we realized that it was completely dark outside. I giggled to myself for letting the time slip away like that.
"It's getting kind of close to curfew. Should we go back?", I asked.
"Yeah I guess. Don't want to get into trouble on the first day."
We walked back to the cabins and his was conveniently close to mine, so we walked together.
When we walked up to my cabin, I could hear the light giggles coming from the inside, though I didn't think much of it.
"Well I guess I'll see you tomorrow at breakfast then.", said Ashton.
He said it in more of a statement than a question, which filled my stomach with butterflies.
"Yeah. I see you. Night Ash."
"Night Ken."
I watched him walk into the darkness toward his cabin and couldn't stop thinking about what this summer might turn into.
I walked inside and Tailor and Mady basically attacked me with questions.
"Who was he?!"
"Did you know him before camp?!"
"What is he like?!"
"Do you think he likes you?!"
"Ugh I ship it!!"
I just shook my head with a foolish smile plastered on my face and walked into my room, getting ready for bed.
I fell asleep to the thought of Ash and hoped that I wouldn't make a fool of myself tomorrow.
