(Alva's POV)
Day two. Here we go.
First period went in a breeze, but Kevin wasnt here. I wondered where he was, but didnt question it. I only saw him at lunch.
"Hey. Where were you?" I ask as I sit beside him. He smiles my way.
"I arrived late. Sorry." He gives a small smile. I knew something was up, but didnt ask him.
Middle of my last period, I get a text from Tobi. Saying he and Harry were going to pick me and Katie up. I showed her the text and she nodded. "We're going on a date."
Me and Katie met up afterschool. We dont talk much, sadly. She looks at me as we stand, waiting for Tobi. "So what do you like?"
"As in interests?" I ask and she nods. "Well I like all sorts of music. Umm I like reading and watching TV." I couldnt think of much.
"Name everything you like." She smiles and fixes her uniform. I think.
"Uh favorite band is Gorillaz and Radiohead. Favorite show is Sherlock. I like all sorts of books. Read whenever I can. I play volleyball." I say. "What about you?"
"Why dont you try out this year?" She asks. I bite my lip.
"Dont feel like it." I say and bite my lip. "What other clubs are there?"
"Im in drama and dance. I dont know what you would like, though." She says. She looks at the road and I look also, seeing Tobi. We start slowly walking. "Anyway I like Ed Sheeran. He's an angel." She smiles. "And my favorite show is Deathnote. Dont really like reading and I do dance. Thats my sport."
"You watch Deathnote?" I ask, amazed. She smiles and nods as we reach the car and she opens the door.
"I love anime." She gives a small smile as I sit in the front seat with Tobi. He smiles at me.
"How was school?" I hear a voice. I turn around and see a recognizable boy. I smile as I realize who it is. "Hey, Alva, right?"
"Yes. And Harry?" I ask. He nods and smiles. "Pleasure."
"I see you guys bonded." He continues as he talks to both of us with a smile. "Good."
"You better not leave me." Tobi pouts. I smile.
"I never would." I laugh as I pull on my seatbelt. "So whats the plan?"
"Well we're going to a cafe." Katie smiles as she holds Harry's hand. Adorable. "But you guys are going...?"
"Home." I say and Tobi nods.
Soon, we're driving back home alone. He looks over at me as he drives. "How's school treating you? make good friends?"
"Yes. Katie and this guy Kevin, mainly." I say. His eyes furrow.
"Kevin? Who's this new guy?" He says as we turn into a street with huge traffic. This will be a while.
"Friend." I say as Tobi checks his GPS. "Whats up?"
"Traffic goes this whole street. We need to turn right as soon as possible." He says and leans on the window with his elbow. He holds his chin in his hand as his other hand grips the wheel. "So hows the classes?"
"Good. Not a lot of homework yet, but it'll grow." I say and he nods. I bite my lip. Should I tell him about volleyball? He'll just tell me no. It is a bad idea. I never know what'll happen.
"Hey Al." He says. I turn to him. "Whats up?"
"Volleyball season is starting." I spit out. He looks at me. "I wont do it, if you dont want."
"Yes." He says. "Please dont."
"Okay." I say. He looks at me as I look out the window. I feel him grab my hand. I turn to him.
"Im sorry, truly." He whispers. "You deserve better."
"I turned like this myself." I whisper. "Its fine, trust me."
"I do." He smiles sadly. "But it still doesn't matter."
My mind circles across volleyball and Scarlet and Eva...
Why can't they just leave me alone?
(Josh's POV)
I finish my recording and go downstairs. I smile as I see Tobi and Alva eating in the kitchen. Alva smiles at me. "How was school?"
"Good." She smiles. I look at Tobi and he nods. She looks at her hand with the fork as she puts it down. "Im done."
"Okay." Tobi says. She puts her plate away and rushes upstairs. I turn to Tobi. "Can I talk to you?"
"Yes. Whats with her?" I ask, confused. I didnt expect this.
"She wants to try out for volleyball. I told her not to." He says. I nod. Simon walks in.
"Good. Thanks." I say as Simon smiles at Tobi.
"Hey man. How are you?" Simon smiles as he goes to the fridge and opens it.
"Good and you?" Tobi asks. Simon digs in the fridge. "Anything new?"
"Nope. When you leaving? Because we can record a FIFA video." Simon says and takes out a water bottle. "And I need to talk to Josh and you real quick."
"Not soon." Tobi says. I look at Simon. "Whats up?"
"We're all wondering... In the house." He says and sets the bottle down. "Whats with Alva?"
I gulp as I turn to Tobi. I was too afraid to tell them. They had to know sometime. Would they judge her? I'll make sure they dont...
"She has Multiple Personality Disorder." I say, proudly. Let him say shit about her. I dare him.
"What are her personalities?" Simon says quietly. "If you dont mind..."
"There's Eva." Tobi starts. "Her mother died of cancer when she was 4 and her dad is abusive. They live together and she's 20, but she's too afraid to leave."
"Oh my god..." Simon mumbles. "And she thinks thats-"
"Yes." I say. He looks at me. "And there's Scarlet, who appears often. We thought Eva was gone, since she hasn't been here since February or so. But Scarlet is 8 years old. She loves playing and her parents always spoil her."
"Wow." Simon says. "Im sorry to hear."
"Good." I say. I get defensive about things like this. He nods. "Be careful to not hurt her. She's still my Alva, and she doesn't deserve anything your shit."
"Nothing will happen to her." Simon says. "I promise."
"Good." I nod. I look down as he grabs his bottle and walks out. I turn to Tobi. "Was I right to tell him?"
"Yes. They would've found out sometime." Tobi mumbles and stands up. "Im gonna go record with Simon.
"Have fun." Is all I say as he jogs upstairs.
