It was a normal day. Those boring lecture about whatever the teacher says. Did they really thought that we're gonna pay any intention?

I walk through the halls. Most of the people don't even care my existence. And those little crowd who noticed me? They just stare at me, nothing else.

Yup, I feel so loved here.

I was just going to reach my locker when this really nice day turns into my worst day.

There across my locker I saw him

Alpha Derryl. The most popular boy in school. My crush since first grade. Across the hall. Isn't his locker across the hall?

Tears start forming in my eyes. No I can't cry. Not here.

"So Lena, about that plan?"

I try to eavesdrop them. Luckily, the hall is not that crowded.

"Oh, maybe I can do it this afternoon. It's hard to convince her. What are you gonna do anyway?" Lena replied casually

Are they? No this is not happening. Please don't be true.

"Nothing, I just want to talk" he said. Is that a blush in his cheek?

Lena smirked "Oh yeah?"

"Just, good luck convincing her. Bye" with that he stormed off.

Tears start coming. But, I quickly sweep them off because Lena is coming my way.

"Vera, how is your day?" she smirked at me.

"I know you're going to ask me something. Spill it" I said while locking my locker.

"Well, Mom and Dad are gone and It's just us in the house. Can I invite some friends over?" she looked at me with pleading eyes.

I sighed "Fine, but don't be too loud. And stay away from my room and my lab. I'm going to do some experiment on Lex"

Yes, I have my own lab. And yes, Lex is usually the victim on my failed experiments.

"Yay! Thanks Vera, I love you!" she said while hugging me

"Okay, okay, I'm suffocating!" I said trying to let go.

"Oh, and can you come out from the lab a little? You need some break" is that another smirk in her face?

"Maybe?"

"Okay, if you don't go out. I'll eat your cookies and cream ice cream!" she said while skipping off.

"Don't you dare!" I shouted at her. I can hear her giggle.

I sighed. It's just a few friends, right? It can't be that bad.

I put my hands in my ear. The party is so dam loud!

I looked around to search something. Finally, I found the switch.

I switch it on and suddenly the room is free from sound.

"What's that?"

I look at Lex. His skin turned purple and his brown hair stands up.

"A sound barrier. I tried to get it in the lab. Luckily it's here now" I walked to the table. There's a bunch of paper of my works.

I look at the lab. It's planted underground. The room is entirely made from iron. There's only one door that leads upstair.
