For several moments after she falls, lifeless and cold the small line of blood trickling down her chin I just stare my eyes once again traps for the salt water droplets. I hear the grey haired man speak
"I guess you weren't worth it." My heart kicks back to life beating wildly, scraping against my ribs. I grit my teeth and grip the chair as my vision fades to black. My eyes feel as if they were on fire as my vision returns to me my teeth still gritted and my chair now broken behind me. The metal restraints holding me to the chairs melt away from my wrists. I look in the glass that separated me and Sam and see my naturally platinum hair has become longer coming down to around my shoulders and taken on a deep red color with several strands of what looks like fire. Waves of orange and gold flow through my hair. My blue eyes have taken on a bright purple hue, I step closer to the glass and it melts away allowing me to walk into the room where Sam lays quite and still. The robotic monstrosity still clicks and whirls. its large head fallows me as I walk up to sams now lifeless body. I kneel before her and pick her up into my arms slowly, I close her eye lids and wipe away the blood from her chin
"I'm so sorry Sam I couldn't save you. I'll make them all pay for what they've done."
I kiss her forehead one last time before I watch her skin turn grey and she turns to ash in my arms. The remnants of what used to be Sam turn to small ashen grey piles in my hands. I stand up and turn to the glass window in the wall where I know they are observing me
"you fucked up."
I say to no one in particular. I hear the familiar sound of the machine quickly reach for me. It's claws latch around my head, I reach up grabbing one of the claws. With a quick jerk I rip the claw away from my face and jolt upward jamming the claw between the head of the machine and the body of it. A constant wave of sparks fly from the gash in the robots torso as I hear the whirling sound slowly cease to amit from the machine. I my attention once more to the black pane of glass where the grey haired man must be hiding. I turn to the machine and brake a single jagged piece off its mangled body, I weigh it in my hand before hurling it at the glass. The dark pane shatters as the hunk of metal crashes threw it. I see scientists run and scatter until the room is void off all bodies but one. The man with the grey hair is pinned by his arm, the torn and battered piece of flesh and bone held to the wall by the burning metal. I can hear his screams of pain and terror as I walk slowly to him. As I stop at his feet a grab him by his mouth stifling his cries of pain. He looks me in the eyes as I speak to him
" create me from nothing, throw me into a world I have no idea about, give me one person I can relate to just to tear her away from me. You are cruel and vindictive, I wish I could say you deserve better."
His eyes widen as I place my right hand on his chest. His screams intensity as his body heats up. Pieces of flesh melt and peel from his charing body. Becoming almost inhuman his screams sound like that of a dying animal, as his skin melts away his screams begin to stop. I watch his eyes fill with orange tendrils, his body ceases to move. The clean suit he wore before having been burned away leaving his body a burnt block of charcoal. I break the dead thing away from the wall and throw it at the machine and watch it break apart into rocks and dust. I take one last look at the destroyed and mangled bodies of the two things that killed Sam and feel a pang in my chest, I walk into the hall to see people I've never met running through them and away from me. Looking around I scan the room to find Jennifer trying to hoist Joshua off of the ground. I walk over to them and just before I reach them Jennifer looks up to see me. Not to my surprise she drops Joshua's almost lifeless body and takes off running down the damp hall. It's at this point I hear the alarm blaring in my ears.
"I guess you had a contingency plan for if I got to strong didn't you josh?"
The broken man pulls his body against a wall and leans against it, he coughs for a moment before speaking to me.
"You know Thomas, the robot was the contingency plan. So I guess we did, pretty crappy one but yeah."
For the first time I smile and grab his wrist lifting him off of the ground. He winces in pain as he dangles in the air.
"You didn't want to do this did you josh?"
He shakes his head and coughs one more time
"Absolutely not Thomas"
He pauses and I watch a tear run down his face
"You and Samantha were both very special to me Thomas, Sam was the pinical of the human race perfect in every way, and you the greatest advancement in genetic engineering in human history. I grew attached to both of you."
After he finishes talking I set him down and while the tears from his eyes.
" you know I hated everything about you before today, I'm sorry this had to happen."
He shakes his head and looks up at me
"Don't be Thomas there was no way to stop it, Thomas there is something I need you to do."
I kneel down and nod my head
"What's that?"
He points down the hall
"That way there will be a blue door with all kinds of locks, on the other side is a girl her name is zoey. Thomas get her out of this place. Keep her safe please."
I nod and look down that hall
"I promise I will Joshua"
He smiles and leans his head back against the wall and takes one last deep breath before I watch the life drain from his face. I stand up and start down the hallway looking for the door.
It feel like hours of walking, every piece of metal or glass melting around me as I step farther into the facility. After a while I hear what sounds like boot stomps marching towards me, I stop walking long enough for the men to materialize in my sight they stop a good forty feet away from me and draw a arsenal or weapons from their backs. Tiny read dots form on my chest in a tight grouping with the small army of men standing proudly together. As if in slow motion I see their fingers pull back on the small triggers and watch as the weapons explode to life with bursts of fire and lead. I raise my hand with a light wave just before the small death bringers hit my body, they fly through the wall of heat and turn to small puddles of molten metal at my feet. I looked up at the shocked faces of the men just long enough for them to gasp, I gave a loud scream as the wave of heat permitted the air and vaporized the men to ashes. I walked through the grave yard of bones and ashes heartless the only thing on my mind being my promise to Joshua. Not long after the men showed up I find the door locked and sealed tight. I place my hand on the cool blue metal and close my eyes, the metal heats up turning into a red hot mass of molten metal. I step over what used to be the door and walk down a hallways similar to the medical ward the only difference is at the other side of the room is a single door with a small window. I step to the door and find a small laminated paper sign
*zoey claress*
"Not very subtle about what's in there are they?"
I open the door slowly to find a girl with long blond hair that flows to about her stomach meditating on the floor. Not wanting to disturb her I sit down and cross my legs looking at her she softly clears her throat and speaks in a sweet voice.
"Can I help you with something?"
I jump slightly not exiting her to talk
"My name is Thomas I'm-"
She cuts me off before I can finish
"I know who you are Thomas I want to know why your here."
I clear my throat and speak clearly
"Joshua sent me here and told me that I need to get you out of this facility."
She opens her eyes slowly.
"So I guess that means mr.urie is dead?"
I raid an eyebrow confused
"You mean the man with grey hair? Yes he's dead."
She nods and stands up
"I see well then let's get a move on no time to waste."
I stand up to and turn around just in time to see the Grande hit the floor, I grab it and throw it out of the door before it explodes. The roof over us begins to crack and fall on top of us, I grab zoey and use my body to cover us as the building collapses around us.
