'Okay boys. This is our biggest show yet. We've gotta make this one count.' said Axl in the dressing rooms. The band were about to perform in the Ritz. It was a huge moment that when he joined the band three years earlier, Slash couldn't have pictured.
Picking up his Les Paul and slinging the strap over his shoulder, he headed towards to the door behind Axl. They headed up a short flight of stairs and into the wings. Slash could hear the crowd cheering. Axl turned around one last time and gave the band a thumbs up for spinning on his feet and dashing onto the stage.

Slash followed him and in a moment he was there, in the stage, arms spread wide taking in all the cheers. Then Axl whopped and slash set off into the unmistakeable riff of 'It's so easy'. The crowd screamed their approval. Axl danced about before grabbing the mic. "I see your sister in her Sunday dress to please, she pouts her best..."
Slash spun around to see Steve banging the drums like crazy, that unmistakeable grin on his face.

Slash's favourite part of the song was coming up. As soon as he heard Slash spit about the words 'F*ck off!' he dragged his hand up to the top of the guitar and launched into his solo. He turned to see Axl headbanging wildly. Slash smiled and pushed his hands into the next power chord.

Two songs later, and Slash was drenched in sweat. He marched forward onto the stage and looked around. Suddenly in the wings he saw something move. Just a lighting bloke, he told himself. But whatever it was, it had moved fast and had been creepily blurred. Slash shrugged and began the riff of Sweet Child O Mine.

Looking out to the crowd as the bass guitar came in, he saw something else out there. A black blur in the middle of the horde. Suddenly Slash began to feel sick.

"She's got a smile that is seems to me..."

Slash swayed on his feet.

"Woah, oh oh, sweet child o mine."

His hands only just found their way to the next chord.

The second verse was easier for him, and by the next chorus the dizziness had gone. But he couldn't stop wondering. What the hell was that thing he'd seen in the wings and the crowd?
