Audrey stared at Liam's large extended hand before tilting her head up to meet his sultry gaze. Her mouth was dry and her eyes were wide, she felt as if she'd forgotten how to speak.

'Say hello dip shit!' Her mind was screaming at her.

"Audrey. I'm Audrey." She spoke as calmly as she could manage while shaking Liam's hand, "would you like a drink?"

"I'd really fancy a beer actually. It's 5 o'clock somewhere I suppose."

Liam's smile was heartwarming, but his voice trailed off when he looked at Audrey's wrist. The cuts along her skin were fresh; they looked painful and hot to the touch.

'Good going! Now he's going to think you're a psycho. Awesome'

She quickly retracted her arm as soon as she caught on, grabbing her hoodie from the chair next to her, slipping it over her head and tugging down the sleeves protectively. Her cheeks blushed a rosy pink as she fiddled with the hem of her top.

"If you wanted me to know, you would tell me," Liam spoke after a few very long moments of silence.

"Excuse me?"

"Your wrist. It's obviously not for attention if you're trying to conceal them. Also, if you really cared for me to know you would've told me by now."

At this point Audrey's alcohol fueled courage kicks in before her brain has proper time to process what Liam had just said.

"What the fuck is that supposed to mean? Don't act like you know me! Mr. Daddy Direction over here. Piss off."

Liam doesn't move an inch, his lips don't crack the slightest smile; he just stares into Audrey's angry eyes, as if he's trying to bore into her soul. All of the sudden he straightens out, finishes his beer and extends his hand for the second time.

"I want you to want me to know, Miss Audrey. Let me take you for a ride."

Audrey had just made a complete ass of herself, rudely dismissing probably the sweetest man she'd ever come in contact with, but he still wanted to know her.

She took her last shot before clearing her throat. "Okay Liam, let's go."

-

Liam had a blacked out Range Rover; black tinted windows, black pearl paint job, shiny black rims and black leather seats. Audrey admired all the toys on the dashboard as Liam drove. There were so many buttons and knobs, she had no idea what most of them did.

'This car probably cost more than my house...,' she thought to herself.

Out of habit, she hugged her knees to her chest and put her feet on the edge of the leather seat. Liam glanced over at her movement, but still drove in silence.

"Shit, is that rude? These seats probably cost more than my entire car."

Liam burst out into laughter at Audrey's concern for such miniscule things, "No, it isn't rude at all. I just glanced over at you because it was the first time you'd moved since you got in the car fifteen minutes ago," Audrey's face flushed a deep scarlet, "I was hoping you were going to say something, love."

With liquid courage still coursing in her veins she spoke up, "You realize this is completely bizarre? What are you even doing here? Why did you go to a bar so early? Why did you let some random girl into your car? Where are we going anyway?"

Liam smiled in what seemed like amusement.

"I do realize this is out of the ordinary. I'm here visiting family for a few months, this is my home town you know. My reasoning for going to a bar is the same as every other person, to get drunk. Why did you get in my car? Lastly, we aren't going anywhere because we're already here."
