they tell you to be one thing
but then that you're doing it wrong
it's never enough
not for them or the ones they raise
you can't be a virgin
without being a prude
or sexually active
without being promiscuous
society is the biggest hypocrite of them all
you're either too this or too that
never good enough
or always too good
to fit in their 'perfect' mold
would be ridiculous
we should feel free
as teenagers
to be who we are
and make mistakes
we learn from the mistakes we make
so telling us how to do everything
that is removing our learning
let us be free
and happy
with ourselves
and others
because we are teenagers
and teenagers need to live
