Chapter 1:
I watched her walk towards her locker, with her friends behind her chatting happily. I leaned on my locker smirking at them all but as soon as she locked eyes on me she glared unhappily. I rolled my eyes showing I didn’t care, but I did... it hurt how she didn’t want me. Who would? She brushed her straight, long brown hair to the side as her boy friend walked over and picked her up. She was just taller than my 5’4 height and her eyes shone bright green. She was once my best friend, the one who I told all my secrets to. But then I started liking her and I told her thinking she liked me too with all the signals she gave me, but obviously I was wrong. Her boyfriend looked at me angrily and I quickly pulled my black hoodie over my face and started walking. I didn’t need to get him angry... again, but looking at his girl was sure to push him.
Suddenly I was falling, some bitch had tripped me. A small scream escaped my lips as I fell on my face. My books flew out in front of me and I landed on the floor with a thump. I heard laughs from all around me, I looked up to see her looking over me.
“What do you want?” I mumbled up at her, “What do you want from me Ava?” Her name rolled off my tongue so easily and it felt nice to say her name out loud. She smirked at me and nodded at someone behind me.They grabbed the back of my hoodie and shoved me into the lockers. She came to stand before me, my heart was going crazy.
“What I want, Jaime. Is for you to stop wanting me. Stop looking at me. Forget me.” She said coldly. She ripped my hoodie off my head and pulled one of my blond curls, making it bounce around.
“You know, you are cute.” One of the guys said from behind.
“Shame she’s a lezo hey Drake.” She smirk.
When she said the word ‘lezo’ my heart felt broken. She never said the words before... It’s not my fault I am this way, why couldn’t she be nice about it. Ever since she left me I have been alone, no friends... no one. She never used to be mean to me. I felt a sharp stinging pain hit my cheek and I snapped out of my trance seeing she slapped me.
“Try that again Ava... I dare you.” I snarled and she giggled her cute giggle and planted a kiss on my cheek where she just slapped me. “What the fuck is wrong with you! You never used to be this way!”
-Flashback-
“Jaimeee, give it back” Ava giggled and climbed onto my lap, reaching for her phone but I shook my head and sat on it. She glared at me playfully.
“What is it you want again A?” She licked her lips and nuzzled her head in my chest laughing softly.
“My phone, please?” She whispered.
“Hmm, why should I?”
“I love you Jaime, come on, give it here.” She laughed, I laughed with her and pushed her off me. My heart was beating to much as it was, I had to pull this away, she’s my best friend.
“Okay, here you go” I chuckled and gave her phone back. She smirked at me and unlocked it.
“You do know I’m not going to delete the photo, you look so cute! The way the sun shines off your eyes... so blue” she smirked showing me the photo. She was right, my eyes looked bluer than normal and my blond curls were all over the place. I looked... pretty.
“I hate you” I laughed and tickle attacked her until we were in fits of laughter.
-Flashback over-
“I hate you Jaime, you were and are just a waste of space.” She said coldly, shoved me back which slammed my head on the lockers and walked off. I slid down the lockers with tears flowing down my eyes. People roughly threw me around calling me different names like ‘faggot’ but that didn’t hurt... what hurt was what she said... she hated me. Her of all people!
