Ace p.o.v
I sat in my basement for what felt like hours. When I had reached the basement, the power had gone out. I couldn't see anything. All I could smell was smoke and dust, the only noises I heard was my breathing. I would have thought everything had gone back to normal if it weren't for the smell of smoke. Why was there smoke? After a minute of thinking, I went upstairs. Destroyed, everything was destroyed. I finally knew why I had smelled smoke. Outside most of the houses were either on fire, or collapsed in someways or another. My house included. The whole upstairs had collapsed.
I decided to not wonder and just go. I grabbed the rest of the food and water from the kitchen and stuffed it all into a cooler. I then headed to the living room and grabbed a pillow and a couple of blankets. I grabbed a couple other things, then went out and threw everything in my mom's extra car. I was about to leave, but I felt like I was forgetting something... Hmm... OH MY GOD! I FORGOT MOCHA!
I ran back into the house, and finally found the poor girl curled up in the corner of the living room. When I walked up to her, she looked up for a second, then her head dropped down between her paws. Her ears were down and she had her tail between her legs, but, from what I could tell, she wasn't hurt."Oh Mocha! I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to forget you! I said. I then tried picking her up as best I could, and put her in the passenger side door of the car.
I- I mean WE- finally started on our adventure. New start indeed, hah! To the store! I know, so exciting...
