-Author's notes-

This is mostly fluffy chapter. But you know, shit may or may not be be going down in chapter 3 ;)

Plus there's this random little Vik I drew for this chapter. (My style is super sketchy, I know)

Also please if anyone is up for it send me a message so I can rant to you about Vik and his god damn polar bears. I mean like, dear lord, where did this precious cinnamon roll even come from?

Warnings: Still physically hurt Vik, but nothing graphic. Insecurity, I guess??? Flirting. Adorable dorks.

Length: 2005 words

-3rd person POV-

When they finally made it back Rob waited for the others to go do whatever they were going to do before approaching Vik.

"So Vik, care to explain what happened?" Rob asked the short Brit, hoping he would let him know what had happened.

"I don't know what you are talking about" Vik answered. He didn't want to tell anyone about his encounter with Lachlan so he would have to try his best to keep the truth from Rob and the rest of his teammates.

"You were blushing Vik" Rob stated enforcing his point.

"I was just cold" He said hoping that would be enough of an explanation for Rob.

"Then why did you look so panicked when I asked you before as well as now?" Rob questioned further in hopes he would just tell him the truth.

"I'm fine" Vik insisted. Rob just stared at him sternly obviously not buying his lies.

"Okay, maybe I'm a little paranoid because of the fact that if something tries to kill me I can't really defend myself properly, let alone run away from it" He tried. This attempt had, to his relief, worked and it made Rob give him gentle hug.

"Don't worry, Vik, we'll keep you safe. You know what, I'll try to gather up some arrows we have and get a bow for you to keep you a little bit safer, okay?" He said giving him a reassuring smile and freed him from the hug. Vik felt horrible lying to his friends even though he technically wasn't lying. Vik gave Rob a nod as an answer, scared that a verbal one could prompt him to talk more with him. And talking more about the subject wasn't something Vik could handle right now. Rob then left Vik to himself and headed off somewhere, probably to find the objects he promised, Vik assumed.

---------------------------

It had been almost a week since his ankle had sprained and he had beginned to realize just how bad the sprain had been. He would probably have to stay pretty much useless for awhile and that wasn't something he was incredibly happy about. At least the guys had given him something to do actively by making him a small corner in the cow farm so he could help by breeding them.

Currently Vik was sitting on one of the chest in the cow farm petting one his cats, Thor. His other cat, Loki, was wandering near him hunting butterflies. They made him feel a lot safer combined with the bow and arrows he had gotten from Rob. The cats also made him feel kind of less lonely even if he was staying behind on all the expeditions and mining operations. He glanced towards the sky to see where the sun was. Around midday he would say. That meant it would be about an hour or so before the guys got back from their mining mission.

Due to still having some time alone Vik let his mind wander and his thoughts ended up on Lachlan. He wondered when he would see him again and in what kind of situation. Would he meet him again in situation where he would have to fight him? He would, wouldn't he. Just his luck falling for a guy on the opposite side of him. He couldn't even deny the fact that he had developed a crush on the Aussie anymore. He just kept popping up in his head and it always made him wonder how great it would be to be together with him. Well at least Lachlan had shown him some signs of liking him back so there was some hope on that regard.
