-Author's Note-
This was previously posted on my one shoot book, but I decided to make it into a short fic. So this chapter is just what was posted there so people who haven't read it know what has happened.
Warnings: Physically hurt Vik, but nothing graphic. Feeling useless. Maybe cursing(probably not though).
Length: 1370 words

-3rd Person POV-
Vik cursed in his mind as the cold started to finally get to him as the small temporary camp he and the guys had made. He didn't know which was the most frustrating at the moment; that he would probably freeze his ass off sitting here, that he couldn't do anything about it or that he was useless at the moment. Though all of the frustrating things he was dealing with could be traced back to one source; his sprained ankle. He cursed the slippery stairs of the dungeon, but thanked whatever was out there that his friend were with him and managed to stop him from sliding down all the stairs in to the mob infested dungeon.
He remembered how they had been kind enough to ask him if he wanted to end the exploration of the snowy side of their island and head back to base. He had firmly declined not wanting to weigh down the team and offered to just stay at the temporary camp instead. The others had agreed to it slightly reluctantly. Then he had been carried back to their camp by Rob and asked if he needed anything before they would go back to their exploring, of course ha had insisted he didn't need anything. Though now he kind of regretted not asking for spare firewood.
Vik sifted his gaze from the shrinking campfire to his sprained ankle. He hated being like this, completely useless and not even able to go to cut down a tree to keep himself warm. Maybe he should just try his ankle again. Maybe it wasn't actually sprained? What if it was just the pain from the impact and nothing more serious? Yeah, he probably should try it out, he thought, after all what else was there to do.
His thought process was interrupted by a continuous sound of steps in snow. He raised his head expecting to see a teammate of his. Oh how he wished it would have been one of his teammates but that wasn't the case. His gaze was met by Lachlan's blue eyes. The Aussie halted in his track as he registered that he was face to face with an enemy. Vik was absolutely horrified for a second before the thoughts that he needed to get away as fast as possible if he didn't want to get killed filled his mind. Without a second thought he bolted of the chest he had been sitting on and headed for the direction he remembered his friends had went.
Or he would have headed to if he wasn't quickly reminded of his sprained ankle as he put pressure on it. He let out pained cry as the pain registered and he fell to the snowy ground. As he heard footsteps he quickly turned to see Laclan coming closer to him. He tried to scramble away from him, but he knew he wouldn't actually be able to get away from his impending death, which he knew wouldn't most likely be permanent since he would respawn. But boy, was that a lot of excruciating pain to go through and he would rather never have to go through it again.
"Calm down Vik, I didn't come here to hurt you" Lachlan said to him, but he sure as hell wasn't going to believe that. Seeing Vik still trying to scoot away from him. Lachlan tried again
"Look, I was just scouting your area and I didn't even honestly think I would run into anyone. But the point I'm getting at is please relax and let me help you" He said trying to let Vik know he wasn't going hurt him or do anything bad to him for that matter. So he noticed, Vik thought to himself and stopped moving, knowing he would probably hurt himself more like this. Once he noticed that Vik stopped moving Lachlan moved so he was by Vik's side and picked him up carefully. Being carried bridal style by tall blond Aussie back to the temporary camp wasn't what Vik had expected this encounter to result in. He was even more surprised when Lachlan sat down next to him after he had set him down back on the chest and gotten some more wood for the fire. Vik was absolutely embarrassed, due to not being able to even protect himself if he had needed to, and his cheeks were flushed because of it and the cold, but definitely not because he was attracted Lachlan. Nope. He watched as Lachlan threw some logs in the fire to keep it from dying and then he turned to him.
"Are you cold?" was all Lachlan asked and Vik nodded. After receiving a response he took his satchel off his back and started to sift through whatever was in there. Soon he pulled out a large red hoodie and handed it over to Vik. He took it without complaints and quickly pulled it over his head. The hoodie was too large for him but he couldn't care less loving the feeling warmth it brought him. He could remember how they met at spawn before knowing they were to be enemies and how they were able to easily converse with each other. He kind of wished they could have been on the same team, but at the same time he didn't want to leave his team out of any prize. However his thought process was interrupted by a blatant comment full of sincerity made by Lachlan.
"It looks good on you." Vik's gaze quickly went to Lachlan, who he noticed was eyeing him up, and then quickly moved to the now surprisingly interesting ground by his feet. After moment of processing the words in his head and that they were direct at him AND the fact that they were said to him by an absolutely gorgeous man, he said a quiet thanks. After the comment both seemed to silently to agree to not give a shit about the awkwardness and just talk to each other to pass the time.

The sky had started to darken and the sun had started to set, but neither of the boys had noticed.
"-and our side is like littered with flowers. You should come and see them sometime without having to be there to fight" Lachlan said excitedly. Vik chuckled at the Aussie's enthusiasm and gave a slight nod.
"I would love to. Rob and Mat have just kept going on and on about how they want to go and collect some from there some day when we have more time." Vik agreed and Lachlan was just about to say something back, but he quickly stopped himself when he heard footsteps. Lachlan swiftly threw his satchel back on his back and rose from the craftingbench he had been sitting on.
"I'll have to go. Don't want your teammates killing me you know?" He whispered to Vik giving him a light hearted smile before bending down and kissing Vik's cheek. Vik was absolutely flustered and after recovering from the shock he looked at the Aussie with wide eyes.
"I'll see you soon Vik" Lachlan said winking before quickly but quietly taking his leave. Vik just sat there in silence looking at him as he left. But to be honest what else could have he done? Shout for Lachlan to stay and so alerting his teammates? And running after him was definitely not an option due to his sprained ankle. And so he just waited there, all quiet and flushed, for his teammates to come so they could finally leave. Luckily for him they were soon with him.
"Vik, did something happen, you're super red?" Rob said looking at Vik's flushed cheeks.
"Nothing!" Vik answered too quickly and little too loudly as his mind was filled with the thought of Lachlan. Rob let it be for then when he saw the slightly panicked look on Vik's face.
"Well let's start heading home then" Rob said giving Vik a reassuring smile, but his eyes told Vik that they were going to talk about this later when Rob noticed the red hoodie. Vik nodded and let Rob carry him back to their base when the others had made sure they got everything from the camp and put out the fire.
