EvaLturtleluva  requested in her book 'My Random Book of Random' to do a story of one THOUSAND words with a fifty word start from her. So here it goes...

She stood in a field of long grass that swayed in a mesmerising way as the warmth of the sun nurtured it. She looked around fear washing over her like waves of water at the beach. She knew what she was looking for, but alas she could not find it. "Help" she screamed but her only replies were the soft sounds of birds chirping in the wind. She fell the her knees and wept,
A flood of tears fall onto the browning grass. She lay there crying for hours until she finally fell into a horrible sleep. She woke up once an hour, she couldn't find herself under the mess that she had become, she had nothing, apart from her ragged clothes and shoes that would never provide any protection, her blonde hair fell down her back, in a tangled mess and her beautiful blue eyes, she could hardly keep open, no longer sparkled with hope. 'It's not easy being me' she thought, on a rare occasion she would come to find it, and she would hold onto it but it would soon slip through her fingers."OWW!!" She screamed she looked at her foot and tried to pull out the splinter, well I did tell you the shoes did nothing, but it was just too far in. She couldn't stand it, being away from society for so long. 'How did the cavemen cope?' She wondered, as she realised an important factor of this misery, she was starving, she needed food, and fast. In the distance stood an abyss of tall pine trees, she ran toward it, in hope of finding food. She entered the forest at the brink of night, and fell into a deep sleep. What seemed like a week had gone bye and she was still out of luck, she had no food, her face was turning pale and absent, she was sure that she would die. Months went bye and still she suffered in all of the starvation it takes to be well and truly lost, she could not take it any longer, she pulled the strands of dead grass out of the ground and ate them, after which she vomited, it was a terrible day in her life, she screamed for help at the top of her lungs, still no reply, but she was persistent, in achieving nothing. Nothing worked, if only she had a flair to signal a pilot or something, her life seemed about at its worst because nothing could make it worse...
Apart from what happened next, a pack of wolves emerged from hiding and with pulled back lips pounced at her, she ran but they bowled her over within seconds, she put her hands out and screamed but when she opened her eyes, they were sitting with a tilted head staring at her. She knew what it meant, she had tamed them, they would be her protection, her survival but most of all, her friends. She loved them, they reminded her of her dog Gillian. Gillian was quite a large dog for his breed, and he lived to fifteen, they were born in the same year, she had the biggest sadness hidden deep down inside her when he died. She really missed him, he was all she had in this world, how could the world do this to her. Then she knew, she was lost in sorrow, lost in pain, not lost in the real world but lost in her own world. It was then and only then she knew what she was looking for, "Love" she said, and a crack appeared in the ground below her...
The more she realised the more the cracks started appearing, in the ground, in the sky, in the trees, in herself. When she overcame this madness more cracks appeared, until when she had figured it out, darkness commenced and came crashing over her, she opened her eyes, that now had that glimmer of hope, she put her hand in her silky golden hair gently falling down her back, but her face, her face had changed the most, why you may ask, she was happy, her eyes were glimmering and her cheeks were puffed with a smile, she sat up in her bed, eager, so eager, to eat breakfast. She ran down to her mother in the kitchen and hugged her, on the table were three hot pancakes, glazed in maple syrup and a blob of ice cream sits melting, she sits down and eats them all in five minutes, she gets her bag and runs out the door. Everything is so amazing, she sky, patterned with clouds, the city is the most beautiful thing a girl could ask for, she ran to Starbucks and orders a coffee and scone. Her favourite order, she runs to her job in Angal books, but as soon as she gets there she realises the huge mistake she made, it is Sunday, she runs all the way home and jumps into bed, it takes her a very long while but eventually she falls asleep,
She sees the tall grass and feels the hunger, the humidity, the sun in her face, and she hates it she wriggles and squirms. A knock on her door takes her away from this horrible dream. "Hello, dear there is somebody here for you, come downstairs when your ready.
She gets out of bed and brushes her hair, then goes strait downstairs, then she sees him, brown hair curled into a fringe, brown eyes so amazing they appear unreal, the perfect guy for her, he walks over to her, "I saw you at the book store" he said "you were so pretty I followed you home,I felt like you needed me, so I brand you this."  They leaned in and you know what happens next.
There exactly 1000 words. I hope you enjoyed.
