Okay so first off let me tell you a little about me .
My name is Makayla Jones aka Kayla .I'm Twenty four going on Twenty five .I'm not the lightest or the skinniest black girl ever .But I am me and I love me .Im from Bray, Republic of Ireland .Well I'm from California but I moved there when I was six because my dad he had got a new job .
I now live in Bullhead a small town ,and I work a diner called Fanny's .I live in a quite large apartment .
Anyway to my best friend or ex best friend .His name Andrew Bryne now known to many as Hozier .We met in first grade being the new black girl wasn't easy .
FLASH BACK (First Grade .)
"Hey leave me alone ! " as two boys tugg on my two puff balls .
"What are you going to do about it you're a girl ."
One says crossing his arms over his chest .
I start to cry as they continue to mess with me .
"Leave me alone ." I said once more .
"You talk funny ." One laughs
"Hey ! Leave her alone what did she ever do to you guys !?!"Andrew shoves one .
"What are you going to do if we don't ?"
He pulls me away from the two boys who were messing with me and walks me to the swings .
"You okay ?" he ask
"Yeah .Thank you ."
"No problem ."
I swing my legs back and forth and he sit on the other swing .
"You wanna be friends ?" I ask .
"Best friends ?" he said .
END OF FLASH BACK .
Were we friends til around after twelfth grade graduation .We even went out ninth through twelfth .
When he left me I waited three years for him to come back and now I don't even care about him anymore .I don't even know him anymore nor does our child ...
"Kayla could you get table number four for me darling ?"
"Yeah sure Le'Anne ."
I walk over to the table where three young men are sitting .
"Hello my name is Makayla ,I'll be serving you today .What can I get ya ?"
"Uh were not ready to order yet .."
One of the boys turn red as he speaks .
"Well would you guys like any drinks today ?"
"All four of us will have cokes ,beautiful ."
I giggle as his comment "I'll be right back with your drinks handsome ."i said walking off .
Grabbing three cups I put ice in them and fill them up with cola ,grabbing a few straw I take the drinks and walk back to the table .
"Here you go ." I say placing each drink in front of them .
"Okay are you ready to order ? " I ask .
"Yeah ,yeah .I'll have a bacon Burger with seasoned fries ."
"Can I get a Big cheeseburger with extra tomato no seasoned fries ."
"I'll have the hungry man special and your number please ." The one who seemed to have been flirting before strikes again .
I write down all of there orders ,I laugh and give the paper to Burt .
"OH MY GOOOSSSH ! KAYLA DID YOU HEAR DID YOU HEAR !?! "
My friend Rose comes running in the dinner with my baby boy in her arms .
I walk over and grab him out of her hands .
"What ? Rose what was so important you felt you needed to come to my work place ?" I ask as I sit my son at one of the booths and slide him a piece of cake .
"He's coming ! He's coming here to Bullhead ! " she squealed .
"Go sit with Wilson .I go on break in ten minutes I'll be right there ."
"Okaaaaay ."
"Kayla your order is ready ."
I take a plate and start to pile the food on the and walk back to the table.
"Oh okay so you Bacon burger seasoned fries ,you big cheese burger regular fries and for you the hungry man special ."
I said setting their plates down .
"Ma'am you forget something ." the flirter .
"You're right...Refills ?"
"No your number ."
I laugh and refill their cups .
I serve another table and sit in the booth where Rose and Wilson were sitting .
"Hey Wilson .What did you do today ?"
"I colored mama .Rosey helped me ."
"Did she now ?Did you have fun ?"
he nods and continues to eat his cake .
"Okay who is coming ?"
"Andrew ! Hozier ! Can you believe it he's coming to bullhead ."
"Who is Andrew mom ?"
I shoot Rose a death stare .She honestly knows how I feel about talking about him around Wilson .
"Andrew is your momma's old friend ....Now what are you going to do about it ? "
She ask .
"Can we talk about this later please ."
I begg .
"Okay ,I'll meet you at home ."
I push Wilson's curls out of his face and slide his hair into small bun .
I try to pick him up but he says "Momma I'm a big boy now I can do it ."
My baby is growing up on me he looks just like his daddy .With very little of my futures .He has light skin and mine is dark .His curls drop down to almost his back reminding me he needs a hair cut .He has these muddy green eyes and he is pretty tall for a five year old .
She grabs him by his hand but not before they both hug me good bye .
I walk over to the table where all three guys still sit .
I lay the bill on the table ,its time to serve more people .
After doing what I had to do I .I leave bring home dinner for the three of us .By the three of us I mean Rose ,Wilson and I .The house is clean just like I like it .Setting the food on the table I call for Wilson and Rose .
Wilson comes running out of his room and so does Rose .
"Momma you're back !"
"Hey baby !"
I lift him up and kiss his forehead .
"What you bring today ?"
Rose opens the tray of food and starts to dig in .
After dinner I give Wilson a bath and tuck him into bed .
"Good night baby ."
"Night momma ."
He kisses my cheek and lays back down .
"Kayla !" Rose yells .
"Coming ."
"Your papa said to call him .He said he think he might have did some thing wrong ."
