" Maxan, I know you're really busy studying, but do you want to come over to my house after school? " Jaiden casually said as she sat across from him.

" I suppose, however, I will not go unless-"

" Yes, I have the gummies you like. "

" I shall see you afterschool then. "

Once school was let out, him and Jaiden made their way to Jaiden's house. It was a fairly short walk, she did live near the school afterall. However once they stepped inside, all happiness was lost.

" M-mom? What are you doing here early..? " Jaiden stuttered, growimg tense with each word.

The blonde haired woman turned around, and smiled at Jaiden. Even though it had a mask of happiness, he felt that the smile held nothing but hatred in it.

" My boss let me out early! " The woman then looked at him, her green eyes holding this wrathful flame. " That was very generous of your father. "

She worked for his father? Jaiden said that they had moved here for work, but he would have never guessed her step-mother worked for his father.

" Your father, he's very proud of you. But, I never really believed you were worthy of that man's love. "

He felt his chest tighten. He..wasn't worthy? Had he done something wrong? If he did, he'll make up for it! He'll skip lunch so he could study more. He'll stay up three more hours to study if he had to!

" Maxan IS worthy of- "

" SILENCE Jaiden. A pig's child shouldn't speak unless spoken to!! " The step-mother snapped. Her mask of peace fell, being replaced with a mask of rage.

Jaiden fell silent.

" How are YOU worthy of his love? All I see, is a weakling that will be long forgotten once dead. "

He felt them forming. Don't cry....Don't.....cry....

The step-mother scoffed, " Crying? You really ARE a weakling. " She then looked at Jaiden, " Now I can see how you got attracted to him. " She turned and walked to her room.

The two stayed in silence.

" I'm....sorry..." Jaiden whispeared. " I'm so sorry.....I...I couldn't protect you...."

That is when Jaiden broke down crying, and he stared at her. Jaiden, the girl who wasn't afraid to take risk, was here...crying. Almost....like him.

She continued crying, and after one blink, he was hugging her. Comforting her. Something no one ever did for him.

" It's ok...We're....going to be ok..." he half lied, tears now falling down his cheeks.

If they only had each other...everything will be fine. Because, the two of them were weaklings. And weaklings were meant to be in love with each other, right?
