Runaway

Chapter 6

She walked out of the restaurant and went back to her motel. When she arrived there was a crowd of people gathered around the building. Everyone's faces was blank, eyes starring at the sky. Nicole was confused until she looked up. She saw a man on the roof about to jump. Fear crawled into her soul causing chills. She had to save him, she couldn't just stand there looking like the rest of the blank faces. She quickly ran into the building and went up to the floor he was on. The door was jammed shut. She ran back and then towards the door and busted through, wood going everywhere. Her shoulder was throbbing but she didn't care, she had a life to save. She saw him in the window on the edge about to jump. She got up ran to him, grabbing his jacket before he could jump and threw him back inside on the floor. Her heart was pounding and her legs were wobbly but she didn't care. She just saved a life. The man sits up, puzzled looking at her.
"Why did you do that!?" He shouted. His face plush red. I catch my breath and look at him. Eyes on his.
"Don't ever do that again. Whatever your reason is, it's not worth it." i say in my strongest tone.
"You don't know me, you don't know what it's like to be me."
"Your right i don't know you, but your gonna leave your family like that? If your going through depression or something, i can help but that there is not the answer sir." i say. I look at his wall and see a picture of a little girl. She looked about 10. I point to her picture.
"Who is that?" i ask. He looks at the picture and started to cry. He looks up me, rain in his eyes.
"My baby girl." He cries, cupping his face with his hands. She kneels down to him. She put her hand on his shoulder.
"And you were gonna leave her like that. She needs you more than anything. You can't leave her. She needs her dad, and you have to step up and be that. She needs you and she loves you. Don't lose her." he looks up at me.
"Thank you." he mouthes. I nod.
"Your welcome". I say. "Your welcome.

After the police work was all done
