Chapter Sixteen

"No that can't be possible, my dad wouldn't have a former member as his right hand man. The idea is ludicrous." Luke shook his head rapidly. 

"It says right here, Mr Hemming's must trust him a fair amount. He makes these files himself doesn't he?" Louis sighed leaning back in the office chair.

"Well no...He actually doesn't." Luke trailed off.

"Who puts the information in the system then?" Calum asked, he just wanted to be part of the conversation.

"No idea, he just told me someone does background checks on everyone before they join the gang." Luke shrugged.

"So..do you think there's two of them?" Louis said in deep thought.

"What do you mean 'Two of them.'?" Luke questioned.

"Do you think David has two spies in here? Two people undercover feeding him information?" Louis explained what he was thinking to Luke.

"I-I..I'm not sure." The blonde boy sighed rubbing the back of his neck.

"It would make sense, I mean obviously whoever put the information in the system knew about it. Any other person would inform Mr Hemming's right away but this person didn't." Louis stroked his imaginary beard. 

"So you think whoever is in charge of transferring information into the files is working with David too?" Luke said finally catching on to Louis's trail of thought.

"Well it's the best I've got, I just don't know who." He sighed.

Luke sighed pulling Calum into a hug, he should hate him for who his father is but he can't help but feel something towards the smaller boy.

"I have an idea on who the culprits could be." Louis hummed. 

"Who?" The two boys both said simultaneously.

"My best guess is..Ryan or Zayn." Louis bit his lip.

"Zayn? No way, Zayn is my dad's best friend." Luke said in disbelief.

"It has to be Ryan." Luke stated releasing his boy out his grip.

"Are you sure Luke?" Louis raised an eyebrow.

"I'm sure, definitely sure. Zayn has been with me throughout my childhood, he basically raised me." Luke smiled.

"Okay, if you're definitely sure." Louis chuckled. 

"So we just need to get proof of Ryan working for David then." He shrugged as if it wasn't a big deal.

"It's not going to be as straightforward as that." Luke told Louis.

"How? It'll be a piece of cake, I mean he's your dad, he'll believe you."

"He won't, I tried telling him before about Liam. He sided with Liam." Luke sighed sadly.

"Really? Oh shit then." Louis said slumping in the chair.

"Don't give up now L-Louis." Calum smiled putting a reassuring hand on Louis's shoulder. 

"We just n-need to get as many people a-as we can. So that mean's m-make up with H-Harry." Calum giggled. 

Louis sighed running a hand down his face.

"Okay I'll make up with Harry. So if Harry forgives me that means we have a total of..." Louis counted on his fingers. "Four people unless we can get Niall on our side."

"H-hey what about me?" Calum asked offended. 

"No offence princess but you couldn't fight to save your life, things might get a little rough." Louis scoffed.
