Elizabeth's povI secretly followed Alistair away from camp. I was curious about why he had acted in the way he had.
I followed him for about an hour when he walked into a small clearing in the woods. He walked over to the lake and sat on the bank. I hurried behind the nearest tree and listened as he spoke.
"What was I thinking! Me and a girl like her. A Mage!" He shouted. The words struck me like a dagger to the heart. "A Templar, a Mage hunter, having a crush on a Mage! It's unheard of!" He continued.
I wanted to shout out and tell him just how wrong he was but the tears gathering in my eyes had caused a lump to form in my throat.
"I can't fall in love with her, it's just wrong!" He said.
"This shouldn't be a factor of why we shouldn't be together. He's not even a Templar anymore!" I said to myself. Tears had started streaming down my face. I got up and ran back towards camp. Alistair must've heard me snap a twig while running because I heard his voice call out after me as I ran away.
I burst back into our campground and ran into my tent and closed it. Max was inside and I grabbed him tightly and laid next to him. He put his head on my back and payed with me, protecting me, as he always has. Max knew that I was upset. I heard a small growl from him as someone approached the tent. A second late I heard Lilliana's sweet voice "May I come in?" She asked.
I opened the tent slowly and let her in. She sat across from me with Max at my side. "Are you alright?" She asked. I didn't answer.
She crawled closer to me and then wrapped my in a warm hug. I rested my head on her shoulder and started to cry.
"Maybe we can get Morgan to turn him into a toad or something. I'm sure she would be happy to." Liliana suggested trying to lighten the mood. I laughed with tears still straining my voice.
"I just don't get it... He obviously likes me... Why else would he kiss me?" I said slowly. Liliana stroked my hair and gently shushed me as she cradled me in her arms. "Don't worry about it right now." She answered. "But..." I started but Liliana just shushed me again.
