As I was in this trance, it made me realize what a horrific experience I had. It reminded me of the ghastly stench and how the gas masks weighed as much as the Earth as if I was carrying it on my shoulders. I was weak then, I still am. Disturbed and alone, I fought for what I had known was bound to happen again.
"This is apart of life, it happens everywhere." I lied to myself knowing it might bring my hopes alive once again.
Sleepless nights were accounted for as I was in no need for assistance any longer; well from what I was told. As the thoughts came back so did I. Tears draped onto my rugged skin and breath was cold on my lifeless body.
