Hello, I'm Alexandra Ilacad and 15 years old. I live in the United states, but my mom and I are moving back in the Philippines tomorrow! Hay, I don't really know how to speak tagalog pa ee! Oh no.
"Good morning baby girl, time to wake up!" Mommy says.
"Mommy, what's the time?" I ask.
"4:00am in the morning baby."
"Aw, mommy ang aga pa po."
(At yon po ang first time in years na nag tagalog ako).
"Baby, flight natin ay 7:00am! 3 more hours nalang. " Sabe ni mommy.
And that's when I hop out of my warm bed and get ready. My clothes are packed and so are everything that needs to be.
*2 hours later*
"Bilis, anak! Time to go na!" Mommy says.
"Be there in a second mom." I say.
We took of for the flight at around 7:15am and there we were, sitting in a plane.
"I'M so bored." I say.
"I know anak."
"Hmm..."
And I fell asleep.
*ARRIVED*
"ANAK, gising na, nandito na tayo."
"OMG, talaga po?!? YAAAY!" I nearly yell in excitement.
Moments later nakita ko ang lolo at lola ko, nakatayo at naghihintay samin.
"NANAY, TATAY! I MISSED YOU GUYS SO MUCH!" I run to them and gave them a humangous hug.
"WOW, English speaker na talaga ang apo namin ah. Sympre, namiss ka din namin nak. " Sabe nang lolo ko.
We get a taxi as we drive to Imus Cavite.
*30 minutes later*
I help unload our belongings as I rush them inside.
"KUYAAA!" I give my 17 year old cousin a huge hug aswell.
"OH, Alexaa!Namiss kita cuz. "
"I MISSED YOU MORE!" Rushes my little cousin down the stairs.
"LinLin!! Oh my gosh, ang laki mo na!! " I smile.
"Ay marunong ka pala magtagalog eh! Kala ko hindi na, ayan tuloy nag study pa ako nang english words kagabe. Hay nakoooo, Alexa." Tumawa ang pinsan ko.
"Eh, konti lang naman kuya eh! Most of the time I speak English, but you guys can help me speak Tagalog?" I exclaim.
"Sigesige. "
When it was around 7:30pm, I go outside para umikot.
"Tao po." May narinig ako.
Ay oo nga pala may tindahan kame. NAKALIMUTAN KOOO.
"KUYA, there's a customer!" I say.
"Ikaw nalang mag serve be. " Sabe ni kuya James.
Tumakbo ako sa tindahan, at nagserve nang customer.
"H-hello." Says a...Let me guess 15-16 year old guy.
"Oh, hey." I smile.
GRABE ANG GWAPO NYAAAA.
AY, JUSKOO.
MYGHAD.
"Uhm, miss?" Sabe nya.
"Ay oo nga pala, ano po yon sir?" Hay, Alexandra Ilacad umayos ka nga dyan (Sinabe ko sa sarili ko).
"Uhm, miss may Royal ba po dyan, at Piattos na din?"
"Uhm, wait...What? Ano yon?" I ask.
"Yon po oh, yong piattos po at royal, yong drinks." At bigla syang natawa.
"O bakit? " Tumawa din ako.
"Wala, wala. " Sabe nya tas nagpoint sya kung nasan yong Royal at Piattos.
"Here. " I smile, as I give it to him.
Hay, the boy of my dreams.
By the way, yup marunong po ako mag tagalog nang konti kaso hindi din magano, kung gets nyo po ako. Hmm, sino kaya yong lalaki na yon? Sayang di ko nakuwa pangalan nya. Oh well, I'm sure nandito lang sya nakatira.
Tas bumalik na ulit ako sa loob.
"Kuya James?" I say as I run to his room.
"Bakit?"
"Yong customer na lalaki.... Sino yon?"
"What, sinong lalaki?" Kuya asks.
"Hindi ko alam pangalan nya pero, ang gwapo nyaaaa." I smile.
"Ay, yon. Si pogi."
What, pogi talaga pangalan nya?!? HAHAHAHA.
"By the way cuz, hindi pogi pangalan nya, just in case your wondering." Kuya Laughs.
Ay.
"Don't worry ipapakilala ko sya sayo." Sabe ni kuya.
*The next day*
Pag nagising ako, bigla ko nakita si Kuya Jameson at yong lalaki na nakita ko yesterday.
"Why, are you guys here?" I ask, in a tired croaky voice.
"I asked nanay kung pwede ko i-invite si Pogi, tas sabe nya oo pwede. :) Kaya andito sya ngayon, plus gusto mo sya makilala diba?"
Oh, kuya James, did you really have to say it right there, right now?
"What do you mean?" Sabe nung lalaki.
"What do you mean, yeaah, when you nod your head yes, but you wanna say no, what do you mean." I sang.
Tas bigla nakatitig yong lalaki sakin, nagsmile nalang ako para hindi ba mahalata.
"What is your name?" I ask.
"Nash Aguas, eh ikaw? "
"Alexandra Ilacad, pero Alexa tawag nila sakin."
Awkward silence.
Tas, nakatitig ulit sya sakiiiin.
Hay, nakooo STOP.
