He chewed up your heart and spat it on the floor
He made you feel special and then left you alone
He scared you every day and night
He finally left you
It broke you.
I tried picking up the pieces
I gave you all I had to love
I did everything he did to make you happy
I wanted you to be okay
I was stupid.
Fell too hard...
Pushed too far...
Cared too much...
Made everything worse...
I wasn't him.
I can't make you laugh how he used to
I can't make you blush like he did
I can't hold you like he held you
I can't kiss you like he could
I'm only me.
Next time he comes and breaks you again
I'll make the same mistake, the same thing I want to do
I'll be your shoulder to lean on
I'll be Plan B
Until there's nothing left of me.
I'm not the one.
