I was getting into the song but it still didn't feel right dancing with him. As soon as the song finished I removed myself from the crowd. My mask was itching my eyebrows, but I didn't let that get in the way of my mood.

I was mixed emotions you see; angry, upset, glad. I needed to update my diary. Continuously walking, i heard voices in the background "her dress is wonderful", "how could she afford that", "should we talk to her". Obviously, they'd be allowed to talk to me, It's not as if I bite. :)

Gracefully walking along the set - up ballroom floor, i could feel someone's presence behind me. I didn't need this right now. Was he stalking me?  Lydia indicated that someone  was behind me so I mouthed the word "HELP"! The person lifted up my corset dress and whispered that it's dragging on the floor.

Soon Lydia came up behind me and I smiled.

"I can take care of that", she spoke softly. The person seemed to be denying her help.

"Come on Lydia let's go",  I clucked in the most reassuring voice ever.

When i go to my seat I took a gulp of an apple martini then swiftly, placed it back onto the grand, mahogany desk. My eyelids fluttered as something was trying to make me cry. The emotions thing was building up inside me. Think happy. Think happy. I kept on telling myself.

"Who was that?", I mumbled as Lydia placed herself down next to me.

"the basketball player".

Just then my heart skipped a beat. To be honest, I thought it was Daniel.  That lying - cheating cow. A voice inside was telling me that I wanted it to be him. Truth is, I did. I wanted him to see how much I was enjoying myself being single - which was a lie. I wanted him to see me dancing with Jordan so that he could get angry and fustrated. Lastly, I wanted him to feel my pain. He could never feel what I was feeling inside. Oh wait, he could. Why? Because that is exactly what his last girlfriend did to him.

I glanced over the crowd spotting Dwayne moving away from Crystal. She was tearing but at the same time showed no emotion.  I was the cause of that, it was for the better. Dwayne would find someone else that'll love him instead of her of all people. Oh no, he couldn't be able to talk to me that easily. It'll be civil since he went against are friendship.

"What are you looking at?" She stole the martini from the table and gulped it down till it was empty.

"Nothing," I fibbed. I was looking to see Daniel. Everytime I thought of him, it cheered me up.

"Are you gonna tell me what happened?"

Above the top of the staircase was  a man in a cream suit matching mine. His skin was a fresh as ever. I prefered the term "silky- smooth".

I didn't expect Daniel to come. He was glancing over the crowd to look for someone - perhaps me? I take back everything that I said previously. I grabbed Lydia's hand.

"Daniel's here! I tell you everything but not here".

I gripped her hand and we hid behind the fake tree.  He now came to a halt and started talking to a few people.

I told her everything. Every little detail and she was left with her mouth open. Completely speechless. I didn't expect her to be seeing as it was my problem, but she was.

"what? You're over reacting, he didn't mean to. Plus they didn't have sex, she just probably gave him a blow or something", she tried to reassure me.

"Trust me, i'm not. Would you like it if your man did that to you".

"Well, i don't have one at the moment, but no i wouldn't . We parted".

I placed on my mask.
