At first the thought of the strange guy who had just claimed to be my roommate, or well flat partner, as he apparently preferred to say (which is kind of annoying if you think about it, what’s wrong with the term roommate?) revolted in my head for a while, but then I decided that I really couldn’t do anything about it besides waiting for him to return and present myself formally, I just hoped that he would come back a little earlier today.

So to distract myself for a while I decided to write the letter for Isabel that I had promised myself I would write.

I took a blank sheet of paper and a pen from my stuff, then turned my laptop on and went into google traductor (One of the best webpages ever if you ask me) to translate stuff into French, just to tease her a little, and started writing.

Ma chère sœur,

Have you forgotten about moi? Your wonderful little sister you are SO lucky to have?

Is that Algerian boyfriend of yours keeping you so busy that you can’t even say hello on Facebook or something?

Vous êtes une personne horrible, ma sœur.

So anyway, Isa, I have finally moved into London, with Amelia and Maddie, yes; only one day here and Amelia already tried to get me into a pub. Such a wonderful influence, isn’t she?

And I have to share the place with some guy that didn’t even have the decency of presenting himself or even asking for my name, and please don’t reply asking me for a physical description of him because I’ll fly to Bordeaux and strangle you.

Speaking of strange roommates, how’s Angelica? Did she finally get over her Pucca obsession? . Oh and tell her the gremlin says hi.

You know what? I have no inspiration at all with this letter, write soon you horrible person.  Je m'ennuie de ma folle sœur.

Don’t stress too much, oh wow, I’m such an hypocrite.

Bye Isa,

Alejandra García.

I reread the letter, it was full of scratches, ink stains, and, I won’t lie, my handwriting was horrible, but I still smiled to myself, pleased with the letter, which was kind of pathetic.

On the remaining space of the sheet I drew what it looked outside, then put it into my bag, I’ll go buy an envelope later.

I  stood up and I heard my phone ringing.

Dum dum da da dum dum

I smiled at the familiar sound of the Pirates of the Caribbean theme and answered the phone.

“Hello?”

“Alejita!”

Amelia screamed through the phone, I swear, that girl’s screams could cause eardrum explosions.

“Hello Amelia.”

Then I heard loud groans on the background.

“Is everything alright there?”

“Now that you ask, not really. Maddie is suffering from this really horrible hangover, you should, you know, come here and fix her, you have experience with that stuff, don’t you?”

I twitched a little at her request.

“Are you implying I drink too much?”

She chuckled “No, dearie, I’m implying that you can’t hold alcohol, now, can you please come and fix Maddie?”

“SHUT UP ALREADY YOU IDIOT. MY HEAD HURTS”

Uh oh, Maddie had definitely drank too much, she was completely out of her usual quiet, nice self.

I sighed and shook my head “I’ll be there in a moment.”

“Yay!” Amelia exclaimed, once again, she was a little too loud.

“SHUT THE FUCK UP.”

“uh…bye” I hung up, because Maddie was being a little…frightening.

It was a cold morning, no surprise, but it’s not like it was very warm back home anyway, so it really didn’t  matter; I decided to shower at night. I took some random jeans and shirt from my closet and changed, then I put my jacket and my scarf on; my scarf had white and black stripes, it was around three or four years old, but I never minded about how old it was, I really loved it.

I opened the door and walked out the building, as I walked out I noticed than I could see my breath because of how cold it was, so I hurried to the building where we had stopped the day before.

I called Amelia again.

“Where are you?” she muttered

“Almost there. Can you come down? I’m afraid that I’ll knock in the wrong place”

“Pfft. You’re like a little kid, did you know that?”

“I am more mature than you at least.” I retorted as I pouted, she groaned and hung up.

Oh God, I really hope she does come down.

When I was finally in their apartment I realized how grumpy Maddie was.

“Maybe you should just give her tea and let her sleep, I am not surprised that she’s like this, if you could shut up for a least a minute…”

“I can shut u-"  Amelia was interrupted by Maddie’s loud whinning.

“We should leave her alone so that she can rest, let’s go eat or something” I suggested.

Amelia shrugged and walked outside “Bye Maddie! We’ll come back later”

I followed her outside, I was actually hoping to be able to go and actually look around the city, there were so many places I wanted to go to…

Apparently not today either…

“So where do you want to go? And don’t say a pub you idiot…” I sighed and glared at her.

She remained silent for a moment, thinking of where to go. Finally she got all excited like a little kid

“Oh, oh!” she started making tiny jumps “Do you think we can get into Hard Rock Café?”

Why not?
