This is an introduction chapter, this is NOT chapter one
(Any word with a * by it has a note at the end of the chapter)

He was running, faster than a hare through the bush-laden forest. Shadows cast upon every corner and crevice, as though nothing could escape the falling night. This boy was not focused on escaping darkness, for a dagger was clutched, with emerald hilt, to his chest. Strange panting followed his footsteps to every beat. As he fled, he realized his distance was being gained upon by his aggressor, and with haste beat upon the ground faster and faster. Then an idea was brought upon him, for he shed his cloak and strung it between to trees. Something was caught in mere seconds, and the boy leapt onto the being and forced his dagger across its neck for a swipe to kill.

Upon standing, his calm returned to him and he knelt with blood stained hands by the corpse. "I bet you honestly thought you could catch me, dirty piece of garbage." He jested angrily at the body which lay before him, bearing the symbol of the Blades of Blood. These men and women were a scourge upon the world, a terror faction dedicated to the destruction of those who do not follow their principles. The boy, who's true name was never known to him, but rather named himself Kanto, was one of few who disobeyed the scourges. Kanto's life was difficult, but that never stopped him, ever.

Kanto had a small ruined stone house as shelter, but upon closer inspection, one might find the caves which held him and his small group of guerrillas, the Watchmen. These brave souls fought the Blades as ferociously as possible, despite their numbers were only seven. Kanto was the leader's wingman, he performed theft and assassination missions that no common man would dare to attempt. The leader, who preferred the Alias 'Freedom', would never be seen exiting the cave, as there was a thirty-million pixel* bounty on his head. Kanto however, was known, but not seen. The 'Emerald Thief' had a twenty-thousand pixel bounty for his corpse, and his emerald hilt knife. The rest of his rowdy bunch of Watchmen guarded the countryside and frontier from foul play and corruption.

The region in which the events leading to this chase took place was the Utopia District of a country known as Pixalia, the most beautiful country to fight against the Blood Faction. This faction was a constantly growing deity which was made by a supposedly supernatural being the transcended mortality long before our time. The deity was known simply as Him by the Bloodlings, the civilians of this land. This being sought rule of a supposedly endless world, divided by seas and high mountain ranges, which were all ruled by various factions and governments. Pixalia was one of many mountain ranges on the precipice of destruction by Him and the Blood Faction.

So was that too much information? Well why don't we focus on Kanto, shall we?

Kanto is a young boy, in his teenage years. He has crisp brown hair and flaming red eyes. His favorite outwear is his red zip hoodie and his black iron laden cloak should he fall under ranged attack. He wears either a white or dark undershirt, and long pants.
Kanto is a calm boy, strategic and calculating. He has sly maneuverability given his fairly thin body and runner's muscles. Kanto carries an emerald-hilt dagger which he stole from the lead guardsman of the Blood Faction's leader, Him. This dagger has an elemental enchantment which allows the blade to set itself ablaze or freeze to killing cold temperatures.

*pixels are a form of currency in this world. One Pixel equates to about twenty U.S. Dollars. Bits, which are their cents, equate in similar fashion. There are half bits, which equate to 1 U.S. dollar.

So I ask the reader, do you think that Kanto and the Watchmen can keep the country in tact? Or will 'He' overcome the watchmen and destroy Pixalia? Find out in the first chapter.
