*this is a story that I wrote from my own mind and have made these characters up. This is not a fanfiction.*

Adam made his way down the cold, dark streets of New York City. He knew since birth that one should not walk the dangerous streets alone. But, here he was. He shivered and put his hands into his pockets. His exhaled breath was a spiral of white fog. It swirled into the chilled atmosphere. Cars whizzed by him as he made his way along. He didn't know we're he was going. Yet he didn't dare to turn back. To turn back just to see the cold, dead, stares of the people who didn't care. He was all alone. He stopped under the flickering light of a street lamp. He pulled his phone out of his pocket. The time read 11:34am. No one had called to see if he was okay. He had been gone for 6 hours now. Not even a single message. Snow began to fall slowly as he continued to walk, slowly sticking to the ground, creating a white sheet on the streets. He continued to walk on. He walked until the time slowly ticked to 12:00, then 1:00, then 2:00. It was then he decided to stop. He sat on the curb and put his hands in his long brown hair. He thought about what had happened before he left. The stares, the laughs, the loneliness. He couldn't go back to that. That's what they would expect him to do. He made the decision. He will not go back. Ever. He began to cry. Tears slowly falling down his cheeks. He cried himself to sleep. That night, he slept on the dirty curb of New York.
