The Year: 2215
Unknown's POV
My curiosity aroused, I look over to where another room branches off the main room. My feet slowly follow and lead me towards the peculiar looking entryway.
I step over the debris that sits anywhere and everywhere in this room and reach the door in under a minute. Before I open the door though, a low sound comes from inside. My eyebrows raise without my consent because I had not gone on a salvage mission before and found working machinery. I open the door slowly and carefully, making sure not to upset anything that may be on the other side.
A blue-ish light coming from a monitor lights up the room. My eyes scan quickly over the contents of the room, but come to rest at a peculiar looking pod made from glass and some sort of white plastic. What's more, there seems to be some sort of figure in there.
I move over to it, knowing from my glance around the room that it was clean and had nothing on the floor. The monitor that was giving off the light is attached to the pod, so I can only assume that it has something to do with whatever is inside it.
I take out my scanner again so I can get something from the computer chip in it but when I do, I can't get a single signal from it. Things just keep getting stranger and stranger.
Not fully processing what I am about to do, I reach out a finger and push a button that glows red amongst the blue. And yes I know, don't push the red button, but it was there.
With a hiss, the pod door opens up, showing a rather petite looking girl. The only way you could tell she was female though, was because of the slight protrusions on her chest. Not a single hair was on her body, her scalp was bald and, well, I can only guess the rest of her was as well.
The clothes that she was wearing were minimalistic, nothing but a thin white and red sheet over her slightly tanned frame. The red wasn't in any sort of pattern, just in spots and splodges all over the cloth.
I honestly don't know what to do. She looks dead, but why would someone keep a corpse in a piece of high-tech equipment? I shake my head but before I turn around to keep looking for something that I could bring back for the clan to use but a strange sight stops me. The dead girl breaths. Once in and out again before repeating the process. The breaths are deep, like someone in a deep sleep. I am completely and utterly confused at how a dead girl can suddenly come back to life again, but because my scanner isn't working, I can't exactly see what kind of machine this is.
I shrug, I really can't do much at this point, and considering that I have to stay here overnight, I decide to camp in this room and see if the girl wakes up. I place my rucksack that holds all my food and cooking utensils in it, on the ground and start to rummage through it for the things that I need to make a fire with. I pull out my lighter and get up, remembering that I can use other things from the previous room to make a flame.
I go out and get some of the fabric from the skeletons to use as tinder. The broken down doors are perfect for kindling and fuel. The door is easy to split with a little bit of brute force, considering that it is half rotten. I bring the split pieces back to my cosy hole and pick up a pocket knife from the pocket of my cargo-pants that I can use to make the kindling more lightable. Using long and well placed slices, I make the wood into long half-inch strips.
With the cotton placed in a small bundle at my feet I use the knife and piece of flint that I keep on me at all times, to strike a spark into the small bundle of cloth. With a couple of tries, the cloth catches aflame and I pick up the newly made kindling to keep the fire going. The fuel comes next. It consists of the other wood that that I picked up from the door that I didn't make into the kindling.
Pulling out a can of beans, I put it over the flames, warming it up a little before eating it. Content with the food in my stomach, I lay on my side by the small fire and drift off to sleep.

Crash
The loud sound wakes me up from my peaceful slumber. I blink the sleep from my eyes and try not to make too much movement in the rest of my body as I do so. Luckily I have been taught how to do this from a very young age because you never know who could sneak up on you during your sleep.
I keep my eyes as slits so that I can look at whatever is making the sound without them seeing me. What I do see though, makes my eyes widen in surprise. The girl that was lying down is now walking around and is looking at the monitor which is now on the ground, the glass shattered. She lets of a few words that I can't understand because she speaks a completely different language.
The light from the monitor left as soon as the glass broke and the fire has long since died so it's kind of difficult to see whoever is walking around the place. I get up when the person's back is turned, and move to get the knife that I put back into the pocket. I get into a fighting stance silently and slowly walk to where they are.
"Turn around," I bark holding the knife out. They turn around quickly and upon seeing my face, scramble back until their back is against the wall.
I blink in confusion at seeing who it is. The girl who was laying in the pod half-dead not five hours ago, is walking around like nothing happened. She puts her hands towards me and starts speaking in her language at me, a few tears leaking from her eyes.
I smile at her, sorry for scaring her before, and slowly put my knife on the ground in a peacemaking gesture. She cocks her head and slowly lets her arms drop but still doesn't make a move towards me.
I uncurl my legs from underneath me and sit in the ground, my legs crossed and take out some of the other food that I still had in my bag that I was going to have for breakfast. The girl chuckles when she sees what I am doing and says something. I look up from the food and look at her questioningly. She says something else and she seems disappointed when I don't answer.
I gesture to the food I have taken out and back to her.
"Owhay oday Iway owknay itway isn'tway oisonedpay?" she says.
I look at her strangely, whatever she just said sounded strange but oddly familiar.
"Ohway, Iway eesay. Ouyay on'tday eakspay ethay amesay anguagelay. Atthay earsclay ingsthay upway." She chuckles again.
I shrug and hold out the food. She shakes her head and gestures to me and then the food. Oh. I put a spoon that I keep in the bag into the food and take a mouthful. I hold the can out again, this time she takes it but uses her fingers to eat instead of the spoon. She moans and speaks again through another mouthful: "Estbay oodfay Iway avehay everway astedtay!"
She finishes the food faster than I think I ever have, but considering that I don't really know how long she was 'asleep' for, I can't judge.
I frown at the girl's attire and start rummaging through my things for something that she could wear. I find a spare shirt and a pair of leather pants, both that will be way too big for her but it's better than what she's wearing.
I hold the clothes out to her and she raises an eyebrow but smiles her thanks. She takes the clothes but puts them down at her feet. She uses her hands and shoos me out the door. I chuckle, but leave her to get changed. I am already attached to her but I don't know what the clan will say when they see her.
A/N: Okay. So the talking above is actually a language that you can translate but I'll put the translations below because I know that I for one wouldn't be bothered to actually translate it 😃
"How do I know it isn't poisoned?"
"Oh, I see. You don't speak the same language. That clears things up."
"Best food I have ever tasted!"
