A Backyard Romance

Chapter 1

"I'm so bored," thought Sarah Marie, "I think I'm going to go outside."

She went outside. She sighed and said "What can I do to not be bored anymore?"

Just as she said this she heard something.

"Hi, I'm Pablo!"

"Who's Pablo?" thought Sarah Marie.

"My name's Tyrone!"

"Who's Tyrone?" thought Sarah Marie.

"I'm Uniqua!"

"Who's Uniqua?" thought Sarah Marie. "That's a unique name." She giggled at her pun.

"I'm Tasha!"

"Who's Tasha?" thought Sarah Marie.

"And I'm Austin!"

"Who's Austin?" thought Sarah Marie.

"And we're..."

"Yes, who are you?" thought Sarah Marie.

What she heard next changed her world forever. She heard the most beautiful harmonies to ever grace her backyard.

"Your backyard friends, the Backyardigans!"

"I've always wanted backyard friends," thought Sarah Marie excitedly.

"Together in the backyard again."

"Yes, but where are you?!?" screamed Sarah Marie.

"In the place where we belong."

"Do I belong too, then?" she wondered.

"Where we'll probably sing a song."

"I love singing songs!" yelled Sarah Marie.

"And we'll maybe dance along."

"Dancing's fine." she said.

"We've got the whole wide world in our yard to explore!"

"How big is your backyard?" yelled Sarah Marie. "Mine is only 20 square feet!"

"We always find things we've never seen before."

"I love finding things!" she exclaimed.

"That's why everyday we're back for more, with your friends, the Backyardigans!"

"WHERE ARE YOU?!?" screamed Sarah Marie.

"We're over here!"

Sarah Marie gasped. That was the most beautiful voice she ever heard. She followed it. She walked through the fence in her backyard into another, bigger backyard.

"This is a big backyard!" she said. "This is like, 3000 square feet!"

"Thank you," said a seductive voice.

Sarah Marie turned towards the voice. "Who are you?" she asked.

"My name's Tyrone."
