Chapter 1
"Amy," I call out, looking around desperately. I scratch my head as I glance around the back of my house and the forest that looms
behind it.
"Amy," I yell out, with panic seeping through my voice. "Where are you? It's too late to play games. It's midnight already! Way past your bedtime!"
"Ah, fudge!" I curse, my feet inching towards the forest floor but logically I should be calling out for help.
"Er, Mr. Kidnapper? I know you're out here somewhere. I saw you take Amy." I announce to thin air. "It's illegal to kidnap someone in this country regardless if you're a mystic creature," I warn but nothing but silence reply. I grimace and take off running inro the forest.
"I swear to the goddess above. If I get in trouble, I'm going to rip that werewolf's neck out. Mark my words, may the moon be my witness!" I grumble, following the scent of the intruder.
"I mean, come on! It's past midnight!" I continue, ducking under some branches. "We sleep at night, not chasing after kidnappers!" weaving through the leaves that block my path, I stand still and stare at the light brown fence where unfamiliar smells mix together.
"Screw this, I came this far. I'm not going back empty handed." Taking a run up, I jump up over the fence while screaming "Amy!"
Darien's POV
We all stare rarher dumbfounded as one of our pack members brought in a tiny girl in her pajamas.
"What...Where...who is this?" I fumble for the right questions.
"This is Amy," my little brother, Landon, announces rather happily, as he rushes forth in his pajamas towards Amy.
I stare at my 5 years old brother. "Did you have another sleep over party without permission again?" I ask, eyeing my brother's face. He shakes his head rapidly in reply.
"No, because she's going to live with us," he innocently says and Amy stare wild eye at us all.
"Sir, it appears that this Amy may be Landon's...er...you know," one of the wolves step forward and suggests. In return, I stare bug eye at him.
"Already?!" I mouth at him and the wolf simply lays down and put his paws over his eyes.
What can I say? I'm jealous that my younger brother found his other half when I'm not remotely close to finding mine.
"Landon honey?" Layla appraoches my brother. "Does her family knows about this...arrangement?"
After a few moments, he slowly shakes his head. Suddenly we all tense. Not because we need to figure out how to break the news to Landon that Amy is too young to stay here, or figure out how to break the news to Amy's parents about this situation. We all prick our eyes at the slight rustling noises at the other side of the fence.
"There should be no rogues though," Layla murmurs quietly. Suddenly a yell slices through the night and a girl appears, leaping over our fence.
"Amy!"
Jade's POV
As I land rather clumsily on the other side, I wince as I straighten up and roll my ankle back to comfort.
"Ah!" I hiss in pain and glance up finding a circle of wolves and two people amidst of the animals. Along with two toddlers
"Amy!" I cry out, stumbling on my badly landed ankle, I rush to her and give her a glance over. She grasps onto her as I lift her up in my arms.
"No," a tiny voice whines, and as I look down, the other toddler has grab my legs and he shouts out "She's staying here!"
I look at him and then at Amy. I shake my head and hug Amy tighter.
"No," I gently shake him off my leg. "She's mine."
The toddler screams and a growl penatrates the night. I glance at the wolves and do a double take.
"Holy crap, these wolves are large! Did you guys ate hormone injected meats or something?" I ask incredulously.
"I want Amy back!" the toddler screams, lunging for my legs but I swiftly turn so that he face plants on the ground. A howl emerges from several wolves and blurs of greys and browns tackle me.
I scream in pain as their claws puncture into my flesh.
"Enough!" a voice yells out. Oddly enough, I got goosebumps from hearing it. "Landon, stop whining," the voice gets nearer and bodies of heavy wolves shift off me. A male peers at me and gently wipes off the mixture of dirt and blood on my face. We both stare at each other before he wraps his arm around my wrist and gently pulls me up. He turns around to confront the wolves.
"Apologise." he states.
Small hands pat me down and I smile affectionately at Amy before hugging her closer.
A brown wolf steps up and lays down to show his apologies. I crinkle my nose before slowly nodding. The wolf inches closer and nudges his nose towards Amy. I immediately shield Amy behind me.
It whines and immediately sits down. It belly crawls towards Amy again.
"No means no," I snap, finally losing my temper. All the wolves growl, pulling their mouths back, revealing their sharp teeth. Even the guy who demanded the apologies stares at me.
The wolf asking for Amy circles around us, baring it's teeth. Amy looks at me before hugging herself.
The wolf growls, snarling and demanding for Amy. It's muscles ripple underneath the furs and it pounces.
Only to be met with a white paw with enough power to swipe the wolf to one side. My nine tails lightly sway in the night and I spread my weight on the ground, standing in front of Amy. My actions are clear from my eyes and stance.
'Piss off, you are not touching Amy'
