"No." I object, shaking my head viciously at the proposal that the couple which happens to be my parents suggested.
"I am not, I repeat, not letting that brat have a sleep over."
There was a lot of things that happened in the past few days after the werewolves realised there was another mystical creature existence. Needless to say, with all the group of gumiho jumping over their territory yelling out "Amy!" or "Jade!" and even "For Goddess sake Jade! Not again!" (If glare can kill, the person who yelled out the last one would had died. Died and incinerated to ashes.) will soon brought to the attention to the alpha's father.
And so, apparently, we're going to have this little meet and greet. Over a sleep over. Which, you know, wouldn't be so bad since us Gumiho have a different meaning to 'sleepover', but the brat who claims to be Amy's 'soul mate' (soul mate my butt!) is going to transform into a superglue and stick to Amy. How do I know? Well, how about the fact that he's already here with his pillow and wearing his pyjamas?
"And where's your sleeping bag?" I added, shooting a look of pure venom in his direction. That little twat shoot his own glare at me before saying, "I'm sleeping with Amy."
If the floor have a gaping hole, that's because the force of which my mouth dropped in shock had impacted the floor. That...thing thinks too far. Is he even a kid?
"No!" I protest, staring around me in utter disbelieve. "I - no - you - bed - what...I don't even..." I stutter, gesturing my hands around in the air like a retard. But you got to see where I'm coming from! Him?! In the same bed? Oh psh, no. Over my dead body!
"I have enough strength," my voice sounding weird as I force the words out of my gritted teeth, "To throw you far enough to an unknown place where nobody knows. You want to know where that is?" I breath heavily.
"Hell."
Seriously, if somebody bore at you with bulging wide eyes and a very vicious look, you'll have the decency to back down and hopefully back out unscathed.
Which this brat isn't doing. Instead, he runs off to hide behind somebody's leg.
"Hey now, you can't be that harsh to a kid," a new voice informs me. I transfer my glaring wide eyes into the intruder. Before I can open my mouth to retort that I still have plenty of strength after tossing his little brother to hell to toss him as well, my Mum made a noise of disapproval.
"Jade," Dad warns before grinning at the Alpha. "They graciously allowed us to trespass their territory, it's only fair to spend a little get together time. After all, Amy's found her 'other half'"
I stare at him with a blank face before uttering, "Sorry sir, but who are you? Where's my father?"
"Don't be so overreacting," my Mum scolds.
"Me? Overreacting?" I ask incredulous. "Oh, then how come both of you refused Lucian's invitation to his sleep over party?"
"Who's Lucian?" Darien cuts in, his eyes glaring at me with newfound hatred and curiosity.
"Woah er, Alpha," I emphasis the last word, "No need to go all demanding. Who I want to have a sleepover with is my choice," Directing the last phrase to my parents, I eye them with a smug look on my face.
"Fine," my Dad sighs. "You can invite Lucian if you desire,"
"But I wanted to go to Lucian's sleep over!" I whine, trying to make it clear the differences between Amy and I's situation.
"Aren't you too old for sleep overs?" my Mum sighs as well, leaning back on the chair she's residing.
"Well, I wouldn't be demanding for one when I went to the sleepover when I was Amy's age," I snap back.
"Jade!" my parents cry out exasperatedly.
"I'm just saying!" I cry back and cross my arms, sulking.
"Hi Amy," the brat suddenly timidly waves his hand at the girl who just wandered in.
I stride over to Amy and lift her up, all the time glaring at the little boy. Amy waves back and says, "Hi Landon,"
"Yes, 'Hi Jade' to me too," I mutter crossly before crossing the room and plopping onto the couch.
"So, is the sleep over on?" Damien asks my parents, his hand ruffling Landon's hair.
"No," I snap at him and my parents glare at me. "But I don't have to say in it, do I?" I sulkily finish.
"You can't always hold onto Amy," my Dad points out.
"I am not," my face pulling into a scowl.
My mum looks at me pointedly to my arms which protectively enclose Amy inside. I relunctantly release my hostage.
"Alright, off you two go. We need to have a little talk with Damien and Jade," my Dad ushers Amy and Landon out of the room.
"Don't do things you're not meant to do as a kid!" I yell after them, craning my neck attempting to see Amy one last time before my Dad close the door shut.
"Jade!"
I mouth after what my mum said with a mock face.
"I swear to Goddess-"
"Done are we?" a man utters after he walked into the room by another entrance, his appearance resembling the person who's taking a seat beside me. I glare at Damien as he make himself comfortable on the couch next to me. He smile sweetly at me in return.
"Now, my dear, do you know about soul mates?" the man asks as he seat himself opposite of us.
"Yes," I reply, monotone.
My Mum glares at me while my Dad figets in his seat. Mum glares at him too.
I clear my throat.
"Yes," I repeat, this time with authorative voice that a person expected to be next in line for the leader position ought to have.
Damien looks at me surprised along with the man. He barks in laughter. As confuse as I was, I didn't move and smile politely at him.
Just think of this as a leader's meeting, I think to myself and take a lungful of air.
"I'm Damien's father, if you haven't figured out. Daniel," He introduces himself and offers his hand for a handshake.
"Please to meet you, Daniel. Jade," I shake his hand wondering where all this is going.
"So," Daniel says before smiling at me like a father watching his own daughter growing up and is about to get married off.
"Damien tells me that you're his soul mate."
Oh.
That's why he was smiling like that.
