"It really isn't that big of a deal, Blake," I finally said, as if even I believed it.
"It really is, Stevie. Just tell me, why?" he probably just asked the hardest thing of me.
"Ugh, Blake. It's a long story... and I'm not sure if I'm up for telling it right now. Also, we barely know each other." I persisted not telling him and coming up with excuses.
At this point I was almost in tears, I was sitting on the ground, listening to music and I couldn't leave. I have no clue where I would go, I don't even know where I am! Blake and I sat there in silence.
I eventually got tired of the silence, so I suggested that we kept walking.
He got up after me, walking a few paces behind me, it actually made me really uncomfortable. Blake is a nice guy, I should have just told him....
"Hey, Blake, want some coffee?" I ask him, of course the answer was yes, who doesn't want coffee every moment if the day?!
We got to the nearest Starbucks and sat down, Blake treated me to drinks AND ordered for me... weird, right?
Once he sat down I decided that maybe I should tell him... I have nothing to lose!
"Blake, I'm sorry... it's just that nobody is even interested enough to know this about me and" in that moment he interrupted me.
"Stevie stop. You're awesome and everything but don't feel sorry, you have good reasons for not telling me."
"But Blake, I want to. I need to tell this to somebody. I really have nothing to loose," I said
I told him everything, how it started with bullying in kindergarden and never stopped, how it still hasnt, and how I felt comfort in surfing. I told him how when I surf I feel strong and confident and how its like nobody can touch me.
"Stevie. That's beautiful, and so are you. Please, don't let anybody tell you otherwise, okay?"
I nod my head and wipe the tears from my eyes, and in the next moment, before I know what is happening, Blake kissed me.
