If you want to listen to the song of this performance it is the Adventure club remix of Lullabies by Yuna.
The applause builds up as the pervious dancers leave the stage and my shaking gets more and more worse.
I flatten out my black leotard, check my shoes are tightened enough and no loose hair is in my face.
Peeta places both his hands on my shoulders. "Hey, we've been practicing this for 4 months now. We're going to be fine." Peeta murmurs into my ear.
"I know. I'm just nervous." I state and look up seeing the presenter.
"Now performing to Lullabies by Yuna - Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark." He speaks and we both take deep breaths before joining hands. We smile and walk into the centre of the stage.
Peeta twirls me to stand in front of him and we connect both our hands together. I rest my head back on Peeta's shoulder as we planned and the lights dim."Remember. It's me, you and the music." Peeta reminds me and the Lullabies remix starts. (start listening to the song if you choose to.)
The lights brighten up again to a blue colour and I drain out the audience and distractions. Focusing on what Peeta reminded me to.
Just me, him and the music.
"Forever in my mind, only you." We start our routine, our heads lifting off each others. Slowly. Still connected. Then our arms leave before coming back. Staying in the same place, still slow. In different positions.
The beat of the music picks up and we become more quick with our actions and reach further away. Slowly separating a centimetre at the time. I want to stay in Peeta's arms yet our routine is saying no.
"You're my first love." We hear for the fourth time in a row and we completely pull away from each other. Making quick movements of shielding our face, we walk to the edges of the stage with a head roll every few beats. I turn and walk to the middle of the edge and twirl four times, preparing for the big chorus entrance.
As we know the chorus begins, I rise higher on my ballet shoes and walk forward swiftly, get faster making to leaps before running and jumping into Peeta's hold.
With him holding my waist and right leg he spins us round. He stops and I place my feet down. Peeta leans me back slowly and I flex my arms back.
He quickly straightens up and my hands go onto his shoulders. We raise our right hands towards each others faces and lean our heads on them. Circling each other. Soon I'm following Peeta's lead as he takes us diagonally further to the front.
We hold each other as we lean away from each other and pull ourselves back up. After a pause effect we hear singing again and drop to knees still holding each other. Peeta rolls away from me and I stay put. We then pretend to reach for each other.
I stand up and walk to him. Bending over him and falling beside him. I lie with my knees up and he turns to look at me, I do to him. He strokes my figure in the air and as he does I sit up.
Peeta grabs my hand and we stand again. We roll our heads and turn to face each other. I lean my head on his shoulder while Peeta moves himself sideways, slowly taking my body with him.
I stand up straight again and we stare into each others eyes before we quickly turn our backs to each other and entwine our arms together. Peeta leans forward and I lean back, my legs holding onto his for support and we perform such a technical skill. I jump off, disconnecting from him and we stretch in sync.
We continue to produce fast movements yet being close to each other. I love this dance and song so much it seems to fit us both.
I fall to the floor, now on my knees. I circle the floor around me with my hands reaching my arms up and standing. As we are now separate, we go to the edge of the stage and move swiftly around the edge, still looking away.
During the pathway, I twirl, leap and roll mangaing to not make a mistake. I catch a glimpse off Peeta on the other side, perfecting his routine.
At opposite corners of the room, Peeta and I face each and run towards one another. We have had trouble perfecting this move. I'm scared something is going to get wrong. In the middle we join together. Peeta laces arms with me and he twirls us around before setting me down and we run to the corner Peeta was at.
I keep my eyes away from Peeta again yet we start getting closer again as we both twirl back into the centre. We hold our hands up and let them drop, bending down before unbending and on the second to last beat he turns me around.
The music stops and Peeta's lips are on mine. Unscripted. I savour it yet have to break it as the audience starts applauding, all standing up.
We smile and face the audience bowing, seeing all the camera and devices filming us. We walk off stage and we release the breath I was holding in.
"Peeta." I say and he turns to me. I quickly place my lips against his again, continuing what we stopped before. My hands rise to his cheeks and he deepens it slightly. We pull away out of breath and stare into each others eyes.
That was the most wonderful performance I've ever been able to complete with my friend Peeta Mellark. I will keep doing it over and over again.
