I ran out the front door.
"Harry! What happened!?"He scratched the back of his head And chuckled. "We got the car out." He pointed over at my car. Which was on a trailer behind George's pick up.
I giggled. "You're a mess Harry!"
"What's that!? You want a hug?" He said, with a smirk. Approaching me with arms spread wide.
"No! Harry! No!" I squealed with delight as I tried to dodge his muddy embrace. I tried, but failed. He grabbed me and lifted me up. Twirling me around, slipping in the process and landing on his ass with me on top. We looked at each other and burst out laughing.
We were both massive muddy messes. My car had changed from white to brown. My hair was caked with wet dirt. We were lost and all we had was each other.
In that moment though. I was happy. I was laughing. I was exactly where I wanted to be. Just then George walked over to us.
"Why don't you two go grab the hose from the back of the barn and wash the car and yourselves off." He chuckled. I hopped up.
"Okay!" I agreed. "Thanks so much for getting the car out. Is there any damage?"
"The back two tires are punctured and flat, but thankfully I'm a hoarder and keep everything. So I think I might have some to replace them. Other than that she's fine." He replied.
Harry and I walked over to the barn. We started by scrubbing down my car. Lora provided us with some soap and rags. After rinsing it off one last time, the car looked cleaner than ever.
"Okay your turn." I said, turning towards mud covered Harry. I smiled just looking at him. He was adorable. His face was smudged with dirt his curls were tousled and wet.
"Take your pants off." I said.
"What!?" Harry laughed.
"They're completely caked with mud. If you don't take them off the mud will harden and we will never get them off." I explained.
He chuckled. "If you wanted me to undress for you, you could've just said so."
"Shut up! That's not the case!" I sprayed him with the hose.
"Oh, really?" He unbuttoned his jeans and began tugging them off. Slowly, but surely he managed to get the pants off. I laid them on the ground and sprayed them until the mud had finally disappeared. Harry just stood there awkwardly.
"Okay! Your turn!" I giggled. I sprayed him and splashed him. We slid around in the water and laughed. Until finally we were both clean. Lora brought us out some towels. We dried up and sat out in the sun.
Laying out in the warm afternoon sun was great. I hadn't been able to relax in a long time. I thought about the past few days and how everything had changed so much. Just then, Harry spoke up.
"Sam?" I turned on my side to face Harry. He continued staring straight up into the sky. He looked so handsome, so determined. "Question." He continued.
"Yes? What's up?" I replied. Focusing on his sharp jaw line as he spoke.
"Uh. Well." He ran his fingers through his hair. "Actually never mind."
"What? Just tell me. It's okay." I placed my hand gently on his arm. He immediately pulled away.
"No. It's nothing." He stood up. "We should think about leaving soon. Don't you think?" He seemed so stern and upset.
"Uh. Yeah." I got up. "...is everything alright Harry?"
He nodded and turned to walk towards the house. I was left standing alone, feeling as if I'd done something wrong. How could one minute he be so happy and the next so upset? I let out a sigh and began to follow him.
Aww mud. How fun. Sorry it's been so long and the chapters so short, but I've got some good ideas, so don't leave me!
