-Thomas
I flapped my arms around and my eyes immediately opened in panic when I couldn't feel the warmth of my sleeping sister. I cursed, tossed the blankets away, stood up and angry ran through the halls half naked. I was one hundred percent convinced that the guys had kidnapped her or were teaching her unnecessary stuff. No, not the guys... Kayden.

It's one thing to obsess about her, but stealing her from my fucking bed? That fucking asshole! I'm gonna tear him a new one if I get him within my grasp! Fucking zombies weren't enough? Now I have to fucking rescue her from fucking horny white boys? Fuck. My. Life.

I stormed into the training room and groaned when I saw that Darcy was handling a gun... And that Kayden stood behind her, hugging her, hands around her and trying to 'stabilize' her. Bullshit.

If he dares to lay his hands on her, I'm killing him.

"What are you doing?" It came out as a growl and Darcy looked at me like a deer staring in headlights.

"Teacher her how to handle a gun. She asked by the way." Kayden shrugged. "Said it'd be good if she could at least defend herself against those things."

Yeah, of course. Why don't you drop all the responsibility on her? "She asked by the way", so what? You're holding her right now, aren't you?

"I can protect her just fine." I snapped and grabbed her wrist. "Come here, Darce."

Darcy's eyes wavered and she bit her lip, unsure how to handle all of this. I sighed annoyed and let go of her.

"Fine. If you want to stay with these jerks, fine. I'm sorry I didn't know you wanted their attention. Continue with shooting fucking holes in the wall and make sure those damn fuckers hear us while you're at it. 'M sorry I was worried for fuck's sake."

"Thomas, I--"

"You what? You want me gone? I'm already working on that order, your highness." I snorted.

I knew that she was just trying to not be a burden and that my words were hurting her, but for some reason, they wouldn't stop. Her eyes were filled with shock and guilt and I wanted to give her a hug, say I didn't mean anything and pretend I wasn't hurt either that she chose to rely on those guys instead of her own brother, but I couldn't.

"Don't be a douche, Tom." Ian looked annoyed at me. "She didn't want to wake you and Kay was near, so she asked him. Convenience, convenience." A grin flashed over his lips.

"Back off, Ian. If our lovely older brother wants to rage, let him. But, Darcy won't be forced to depend on you anymore. She can handle it now. Just because the brother is a weak phatic shit doesn't mean the sister is. Thomas knows that he's useless -all bark, but no bite. Now hurry along and play with some dolls or something. The way you are now, you're not good for anything else." Kayden huffed and I was fuming.

That arrogant motherfu--!

I opened my mouth, ready to set him back in his place and I could see that Ian was about to start something too, but Darcy slapped him before any of us could react. She was glaring at him with such cold eyes that I actually gulped.

"Don't." Was the only word that came over her lips.

"Don't?" Kayden smiled amused. "You asked me for help. I wasn't obliged to say yes, you know? You're turning your back on me now? Gonna jump back into his arms? You're way too close for siblings, godammit! Screw him and screw you for fucking wasting my fucking time."

"Whoa, don't yell at her." Evan mingled in with his arms raised into the air. "She's a girl and he's her precious brother. Of course she's gonna jump into his arms, dipshit." He smiled apologetic at Darcy. "Sorry, Love. Kayden tends to overreact sometimes. Don't take it personal, 'Kay?"

"Hard to not take it personal..." I muttered under my breath.

"Heard that." Evan said with a laugh. "It's true, family is personal, but our childish leader didn't mean it like that. Right, Kayden?"

Kayden grumped and avoided any eye contact. At first I thought that he was doing me a favor by making Darcy hate him, but then she started laughing. Kayden and I both raised an eyebrow and started glaring at each other right after -trying to snap at the other for mimicking a facial expression.

"You have a good friend." She said, shaking her head.

"He's your friend too, y' know. We're all a big and happy family. Hooray." Ian said in a monotone voice and Evan and I cracked a smile.

"As long as you don't suggest a group hug."

"God, Thomas, that's just gross." Ian gagged.

Kayden stared at us all, sighed and went through his hair with his hands. His cold eyes were now closed and he almost looked peaceful.

"Ian," he started "weren't you supposed to arrange breakfast?"

Ian's eyes grew wide and a series of curse words rolled out of his mouth and we could still hear him when he ran upstairs towards the kitchen. A moment of silent passed and then we all busted out laughing.

"Are you sure you don't want me to go after him? Don't want him to burn everything down... Again." Evan chuckled and Darcy hid her smile with her hand.

"Sure." Kayden nodded. "We'll be okay over here. James and Alex are still here, so it's not like I can kill a certain someone."

I snorted. "Yeah, and I won't torture a certain someone either. Wouldn't want him to cry for his mommy and act like a freaking baby."

"Alright, I'll leave it to the others if you guys start ripping each other to shreds." Evan gave us a carefree smile and wrapped his arm around Darcy's waist. "I'm stealing the princess though, she can help making Ian's food edible."

That sneaky bastard.

A/N: new chapter! Yay!
This one was actually hard to write. The second half, I mean. The argument doesn't take long to form and dissolve, so I was uncertain about it... I hope it isn't as bad as I think though 😅 anyway, I hope you enjoyed.

Thanks for reading~
