Chapter 5

Chapter 5:

Alex POV:

"SHUT THE HELL UP, ZACH" I whisper yelled at him. I guess it was too late, Vanessa and Selena came out of the room.

"What are you doing here? Did you hear anything?" Vanessa asked. I looked at Selly and saw her tear-stained face. I couldn't bear it any longer. But I had to keep it a secret that we know or she would flip out even more. She doesn't need anymore trouble in her life.

"No" I replied at the same time as Zach said, "Yes!". I gave him a hard stare and he corrected himself and said, "All we heard was battles. Are you playing a videogame?" Zach said. I sighed in relief and turned to Jason. I looked at him and tilted my head towards the basement door. He understood and grabbed Zach and followed me down to the basement.

Zach POV:

I can't believe Alex made me lie to Selena. Why. She deserves to know what we heard. Ugh I am so mad right now. Tyler fricken touched her. How the hell is that even fair. Ugh for all I care he can go fuck himself. NO ONE hurts Selena. I can't believe I'm being dragged down to the basement right now. I honestly need some time to cool down.

" Zach, what the hell were you doing!" Jason yelled at me. I looked around and saw that we were in the familiar gray basement.

"I was just trying to tell my friend the truth." I replied.

"Friend..haha" Alex snorted while trying to contain his laughter.

"Dude, about that, do you like Selena?" Jason asked with a serious face.

"Of course" I replied smoothly.

"Not as a friend, as something more?" Jason asked.

I shut up. I didn't know what to say. Should I say the truth. Should I tell them that I, Zach Axton, has a major crush on my best friend Selena Montgomery.

"OMIGOSH! YOU DO! I FREAKIN KNEW IT! PAY UP JASON." Alex yelled.

I looked between the two as Jason opened up his wallet and pulled out a $50 bill and gave it to Alex.

Alex got up and started shaking his butt around the room screaming, " Go Alex! Uhuh. Go Alex! Put your POM POMS in the air ladies! Damn I'm so hot I could be an amazing cheerleader. The girls would love this sexy hunk pick them up and throw them in the air."

I raised my eyebrows at his behavior and thought Typical Alex.

"Wait wait wait...you bet on me!" I yelled.

Alex stopped and stared at me. Jason sighed and said, "Alex said if we asked you if you liked Selena you would be quiet and not say anything. Basically chicken out. I unfortunately said you'd man up and be like yeah I like her man or something. I lost 50 bucks because of you. I thought you were a man."

What if I lost my balls. Oh My God!

" You guys, I'm gon' go to the bathroom. I'll come back in a sec." I said, then left the basement.

Alex POV:

Damn he's whipped.

Vanessa POV:

OH MY PANCAKES. OH MY PEANUT BUTTER. OH MY SKITTLES. How dare that asshole try to touch my best friend. I wish I could tell Alex and the rest of the guys about it. Selena was in the bathroom fixing her makeup. I went to her mirror and brushed my brown hair. I felt so bad for her. Her parents are never with her. She has no one to confide in.

We are her family. Tyler was too once, until he cheated on her and broke her heart. He tried to get her back so many times after that. The girl he was sleeping with while he was in a relationship with Selena ended up cheating on Tyler. Hehe Karma hurts like a bitch.

He came back to Selena. But Selena rejected him over and over.                          

He started drinking and one day became so drunk he came to Selena's door. He broke into her house. That day none of us were with Selena. He went up to Selena's room and jumped on her. Selena got scared and kicked his balls. He fell to the ground groaning in pain. Selena didn't have enough time to run out especially with her swollen ankle that was caused when he jumped on her. Tyler got back up and ran to her. She tried to run faster but tripped and fell down the stairs. She rolled down and hit her ribs and broke her arm.

Tyler then walked up to her and yanked her hair, " You thought you could get away huh? Well, you can't. You can't reject me Selena. You won't."

He pulled her back and threw her against the floor. At that point her phone butt-dialed to me. I heard everything and quickly called the police. The police and I got to her house and found Selena leaning against the wall, shivering, blood all over her. There was a cracked vase in her hand. She was looking at something across the floor. I turned my head to look at what she was so terrified of. Over there, laying on the ground, I saw Tyler passed out. I ran to Selena and asked her what happened.

She looked at me with tear-filled eyes and said, " Tyler...came...midnight....fell down stairs....vase....hit Tyler with it....fell down." right before her eyes drooped and she fell into a deep sleep.

The next morning she woke up in the hospital with 3 broken ribs, a broken arm, a twisted ankle, and a lot of bruises. The boys thought it was all their fault for leaving Selena all alone that night. That's why they're so protective of her. They don't want anything happening to her again. This happened during Summer before 11th grade, about a month before school started. Tyler was sent to Juvie for a year, accused of abuse and underage drinking. We never thought he'd come back, until now.
