Chapter 6

Selena's POV:

Did Zach, Alex, and Jason hear? Oh my gawd, ugh why would they let a devil like him out of Juvie! I cleared up the mascara running down my face and walked outside. Vanessa was applying some lip gloss when I walked in. She snapped out of her thoughts and looked at me.

"Do you want to go to the mall. It looks like you need a girl's day out." she said.

"Naww, I'm tired. Can we just sit here and watch TV?" I replied. I honestly was not in the mood.

"Well, too bad. I heard a new ice cream store opened up in the food court." she said. Ice cream. Did she say ice cream. Well that just changed my mind.

"What! When do we leave?" I asked.

"Right now." she replied with a triumphant grin.

I quickly pulled on some skinny jeans, a yellow strappy top, and a white jacket. I slipped my feet into some brown wedges and grabbed my purse.

"Vanessa and I are going out. Be back in a bit!" I yelled to the guys.

Vanessa was waiting for me in her blue convertible. I got in and we drove off to the mall. We got there in about 10 minutes. I got off and Vanessa and I went to the first store, Hollister. I mean, they have great hoodies.

After an hour of shopping

"Can we go to the food court alreadyy? Pleasee?" I whined to Vanessa. Shopping is a lot of effort.

"Fine..I'm a bit hungry too." Vanessa replied.

"A bit! I'm freakin starving!" I replied.

We walked to the food court and got a pizza. I was about to take a bite of my pizza when I saw familiar figure walking near a store across from the food court.

"Shit! Shit! Shit! Tyler is here. He's going into that store right there!" I whisper-yelled to Vanessa.

"What! You've had enough of that asshole today. C'mon let's go." Vanessa got up and pulled my arm.

"No, wait. He needs to know that he doesn't scare me." I got up and was about to walk to the store when Vanessa stopped me.

"I think you got him to realize that when you kicked his balls. You don't have to do this. Just ignore him. He'll forget about you." she said.

"No, Vanessa. You don't know him. He doesn't give up on something he wants, and he wants revenge. He wants revenge for the one year that he lost in Juvie. He'll keep coming after me and he needs to know who's on top." I said and was starting to walk, when yet another thing stopped me. My eyes were wide open as I saw Zach, Alex, and Jason walk into the store. What the hell! What were they doing here.

"What are they doing here. Oh God!" I said.

Vanessa stared at the store as she realized something big was gon' happen. We both ran to the store and this time no one stopped us. We reached the store and hid behind a rack of clothes to see what would go down. Tyler was looking through a rack across from us. I looked to the side and saw Zach and the boys on the other side of the store. The didn't realize that Tyler was in the store yet. I looked back and Tyler and he was walking close to where the guys were. Shit!

I felt a hand pat my shoulder. I looked up to the face of none other than Cole Asher. The bad boy in my school with a huge ego, player attitude, and not to mention hot face.

"Babe if you don't mind, I'd like a pair of boxers." he said.

"What?" I asked like an idiot. Stupid me.

"Your hiding behind boxers, if you didn't realize. Speaking of, who you spying on?" he asked.

"Boxers! What! Oh. Hehe." I realized we were in the guy's section of Calvin Klein. This is awkward.

"We're spying on Tyler, Zach, Jason, and Alex." Vanessa said. I shot her a glare for telling him.

"Why?" he said in between laughs.

"Because they can fight any mo.." I was cut off my a loud What the hell are you doing here!

"I looked in between the rack and saw Zach face to face with Tyler.

"I'm shopping. What do you think idiot.!" said Tyler.

Zach's face was red with anger. " You better stay away from Selena. You've hurt her enough asshole!"

Tyler got angry because of the insult and threw a punch at Zach. He always needed anger management classes. Zach didn't expect the punch and got hurt. He threw a punch back at Tyler, which he easily dodged.

"Shit!" I yelled to no one in particular. Vanessa was watching what was happening. We had to stop this. I was about to get up when I saw Cole walk up to Zach and Tyler. He pulled Tyler back at the same time as Alex and Jason pulled Zach back.

"Not the time or place. You wouldn't want Selena or her friend to see what goes down would you?" Shit, he blew our cover. Vanessa and I got out of our hiding spot behind boxers. We walked and got in between Tyler and Zach.

"What are you all looking at!" I yelled at the group of men who had stopped to look at what was happening. They all scurried away.

"I thought you had changed Selena. But, I see you still need a group of bodyguards to protect you. You're still the weak Selena I remember. What you did this morning was just show wasn't it." Tyler said in between irritating chuckles. That pissed me off. I got angry but then I realized that he was right. I've always had someone protect me.

The police when Tyler had beat me up.

My parents when I couldn't deal with drama after Tyler got sent to Juvie.

The guys when perverts made disgusting comments.

Zach when I was bullied in elementary.

And now, I couldn't stop the fight. Cole had to do it for me.

I felt worthless. Was I really that weak.

" C'mon Selena, let's go."Jason said.

"Stop! No, I'm not weak. I told you guys not to interfere with Tyler and I. For once, can you not be like my overprotective brothers. Can you just be normal people who would leave me to fight my own battles.  If you heard what Vanessa and I were talking about then you would understand. And I know you heard. So can you just leave me alone. Please" I said. I was on the verge of crying. This was just too overwhelming. I thought Senior year would be calm. I thought I could get a boyfriend. I was so wrong.

"Let's go Selena. You're giving Tyler the reaction he wants. If you want you can stay over at my house tonight." Vanessa whispered to me.

I nodded my head and followed Vanessa out of there. As soon as we left the shop I broke down. I couldn't take it anymore. but this time I won't hide from my problems. I'm going to face them. Vanessa and I drove to my house. The boys stuff weren't there anymore. They must have made a stop to each of their houses on the way to the mall. I got my bag and clothes for tomorrow. I locked my house, got into Vanessa's car and we drove to her house. Hopefully, I would get a good night's sleep tonight.
