Kaneki sits on the couch reading a book, while Hide rests his head on Ken's lap, and watches television. Kaneki plays with Hide's soft hair with his free hand. The Christmas tree was lit up in the corner of the room, and the lights were off besides the ones Hide had insisted Kaneki help him with on the walls to make the house prettier. There was a good amount of snow on the ground, and more was falling as time passed. Hide sighed heavily as he rolled his head over to look at his boyfriend's concentrated face staring into the book he held in his left hand.
"Im booooredddd!" Hide whined, stretching in Kaneki's lap.
Kaneki put his book away and looked down on him, smiling.
"What do you want to do?" Kaneki asked him.
Hide got up and strolled to the window, peering outside. He gasped and ran back over to Kaneki, jumping in his lap.
"It's snowing! Lets go outside!" Hide suggested hopefully, knowing Kaneki hated the wintertime and being cold, especially snow.
"Do we have to? I mean, theres other things to do..." He replied, scratching his head and looking out of the window.
"Pleeeeeaaaaaaaasee? I really want to go outside." Hide pouted, resting his head on Kaneki's chest.
"Then go outside." He replied, playing with Hide's hair.
"I want you to come with me! Please? For me?" Hide looked up at him with puppy eyes, and Kaneki sighed.
"Okay okay. Only on one condition." Kaneki said, and Hide nodded. "I want hot coffee and to...cuddle...with you..."
Kaneki placed his hand on the back of his neck and moved his face so Hide couldn't see him blushing. He glanced back at Hide and he nodded, climbing off of him and standing in front of him. Kaneki stood up in front of Hide, and gave him a passionate kiss. Hide's face turned bright red and he touched his hand to his cheek, grinning stupidly at Kaneki. His boyfriend motioned for him to come into the bedroom to find their gloves and snow boots. Hide obediently followed him, joining Kaneki while he looked. Once they were ready Hide ran to the door and whipped it open, excitedly running outside. Kaneki lightly laughed and followed him outside, shutting the door as he ventured out.
"Come on Kaneki, lets make a snow angel together!" Hide exclaimed, falling backwards into the snow. Kaneki did the same next to him, moving in sync. After a minute or two they got up and admired their angels, and Kaneki brushed the snow out of Hide's hair. Hide smiled and pointed behind Kaneki, telling him to look behind him. Kaneki turned, and Hide bent down to make a snowball. Once he had turned back around Hide threw the snowball at his face, laughing hysterically. Kaneki brushed the snow from his face and ran to the opposite side of the yard, making snowballs. Hide did the same, and they started a full out war. Eventually Kaneki rushed over and tackled Hide into the snow, both of the. laughing.
"We should build a huge fort now!" Hide said, getting up. Kaneki nodded and brushed himself off, and followed Hide to the spot he thought would be perfect.
"Right here!" Hide told him.
"Okay, lets get to work." Kaneki nodded, and started building walls. Hide joined in, humming cheerfully. Kaneki was glad to see he was enjoying himself. They built high walls, and it was a good fort until Hide decided it would be fun to tease Kaneki.
"Hey,Kaneki?" Hide asked, stopping.
"What is it?"
"Can i have a kiss?" Hide smiled at Kaneki.
"Y-Yeah."
Kaneki blushed and pulled Hide close to him about to kiss him. Hide pushed away, grinning. Kaneki cupped his face in his hands, kissing him. Hide pushed himself into Kaneki, causing him to fall off balance and knock into the walls they just built. The walls came toppling over the both of them, still locked in a kiss and Hide on top of Kaneki. Hide pulled away laughing, and he got up.
"Did you mean to do that?" Kaneki asked, standing up and smiling.
"Yep!"
Kaneki laughed as he took Hide's hand.
"Lets go inside."
Hide nodded, and they walked inside together.
Once they got inside, they left their snow boots outside by the door, and hung their gloves up. Hide went into the bedroom to change, and Kaneki walked into the kitchen to prepare some coffee. A few minutes later Kaneki was pouring the coffee into the cups for both of them, and he felt a hand around his bottom. His face turned bright red and he whipped around.
"H-Hide!!"
Hide stood there in grey sweatpants and one of Kaneki's sweaters, grinning. Kaneki passed Hide's cup to him,and went to change. A few minuets later he came out in black sweatpants and wore one of Hide's big sweaters. He grabbed his cup from the kitchen and followed Hide back into the bedroom. He placed his cup next to Hide's on the nightstand, and climbed into bed. Hide followed, crawling into Kaneki's warm embrace. Kaneki turned on the television, and they watched movies and cartoons for a while. When Kaneki glanced down at Hide, he noticed he was starting to drift into sleep. He kissed Hide's forehead lightly, and rested his own head beside his.
"Goodnight, Hide."
