“Grace, Sophia I know that this weekend is going to be a tough time on you guys. But I have a favor to ask, do you think that maybe you could find some pictures of Sean so we may put together a slide show. I didn’t want to ask in front of the whole pack out of respect for the two of you. Grace I know we have asked a lot of you, since it was your mate. And losing a mate is one of the toughest things to go through.” He said while looking at mom and me.

I looked over at mom; she had tears in her eyes. Mom never got over dad’s death either. We just put it away, never really accepting that he is gone. I am very protective of my mother now that dad and my brother are gone.

“I think it is time for you take your leave Alpha Travis.” I told him than took my moms hand and lead her up the stairs. I heard movement once I got my mom settled in her room. And I listened in with my wolf hearing.

“She wasn’t trying to be mean honey; I talked with her out when she was walking around. Her fathers death is still fresh in her mind. And if it’s anything like what I went through when I lost my brother. Than I can understand her pain and her reason to protect her mother. My parents were never the same after his death. It takes time for wounds to heal and bringing it back up won’t let it heal.” Melody started.

“They don’t deal with it; they just put it away and act like he never died. I think bringing it up is the only way they have to face it. You don’t cry over your brother anymore.” Alpha Travis was interrupted.

“Yea and how long did that take me to do? Do you remember? Years after, not two years, but years after. Only after having Devon did the hurt start to go away and I realized that I would be fine without a twin to help me. Travis he was my best friend, my twin, a shoulder to cry on. Someone to always be there when I needed him. Grace and Sophia will need time in a few years the pain will lesson. If Sophia finds her mate at the ball than the pain will lesson because she will have someone else to share it with. Trust me; now let’s go home they know what to look for. And you really have to stop sending guards after me I can protect my self. And you keep forgetting when I walk with Sophia we are two of the five strongest she-wolves.” Then the conversation stopped as they walked out the door.

I sighed and rubbed my eyes. Going to the hallway outside the upstairs bathroom I pulled on the string that brought down the stairs to the attic. Wondering around for a bit I searched for the box of photos we stored up here two years ago. Unlike most people we are up here often so the attic is clean, just like the rest of the house. I found the packet labeled Sean. Closing my eyes I brought the photos out. They didn’t say how many they needed so I’ll just give them the first 20 but as I was counting and looking at some I decided to give the whole packet to them. There were pictures of him with everyone. Even some at my birthday parties. With him holding me in my pink dress when I was five spinning me around. I walked back to the second story closed the latter checking in on my mom.

Seeing she was safe and sound sleeping I walked out into the chilly night air. Grabbing a key and locking the door behind me. Sighing as I put the key in my pocked and started to light jog to the Alpha’s house/ pack house. Mom and I don’t live in the pack house just some of the Alpha’s close friends and when a visiting pack is here the Alpha and his family sleep there too. Knocking on the door I waited for someone to answer.

“I’ll get it,” I heard Kate call out. She opened the door and smiled. “Hi Sophia, can I help you?” she said.

“Yea is it ok if I speak to your mom?” I asked.

“I don’t know…”

“I’m right here you can come in Sophia. What do you need dear?” Our Luna said as she rounded the corner and came into view.
