"Right Eliza, you have a great time, okay? And remember what we talked about," gushed Mrs Scott in a very overprotective manner.

"Yeah, yeah mum, alright," Eliza Scott rolled her eyes saying 'yes' and 'no' in all the right bits. Her mum had been going on forever and she was just too excited to listen.

She was grinning from ear to ear as she slowly reached over to unbuckle her seat belt. She pushed open the car door and smoothed out her jeans one last time.

"Bye mum," she said grinning as she slowly turned to finally get a glimpse of her new school.

What she saw was not a school. What she saw instead was a beautiful castle built of stone in the twelfth century (or so her mum told her). She was eager to get closer, and as she walked she noticed that the trees seemed to part away unveiling it in all its glory.  She quickly spun round and waved her mum's car a quick good-bye before it sped off.

"Okay Eliza, you can do this," Eliza told herself over and over.

She was pushed along by the wave of a crowd and soon found herself walking through the school gates and onto the front field. Students were sitting on picnic blankets and chatting, some were eating sandwiches and the like, and some students were hugging each other clearly reunited after the long break. Eliza didn't have anyone to hug in this strange new place, but that didn't get her down. This was a new chance and a new opportunity to study hard, make great new friends, and have an all-round amazing school year. She set off with this new mission in mind and pushed through the students. A girl glued to her phone knocked into her, and Eliza fell into the beautiful array of colourful flowers bordering the school's field.

"Oh, I'm so sorry!" the girl apologised profusely. "It's entirely my fault."

"Don't worry about it," Eliza forced a smile. This girl looked genuinely apologetic and she didn't want to make her feel any worse. "I'm fine."

"I'm glad to hear. I'm Beth," said the girl.

"Eliza. Nice to meet you." Eliza noticed that Beth was very pretty in a cutesy little girl kind of way. She had coffee coloured wavy hair swept over her shoulder, and big dark eyes. Her skin was a light rosy colour which complimented her bright pink dress nicely.

"I love your outfit," Beth said. Eliza looked down at her own white leathery vest top. It was one of her favourites, with shiny silver buttons down the front and silver studs on the collar and pockets. Her ripped jeans were one of her favourites too, and she loved her belt and matching boots. She realised she's put in a lot more effort into her "first day of school outfit" than she'd meant too. She hoped no one noticed.

"Thanks. Um, could you direct me to the school office?" Eliza asked.

"Sorry, I can't help you. I'm new here too," she paused. "Let's go see if we can find it."

"Sure," Eliza said gratefully, glad that she wouldn't be walking around on her own for any longer.

The two walked through the school, and wandered further and further through the halls until they were hopelessly lost. Beth spotted a kind looking elderly teacher and grabbed Eliza's wrist, pulling her along.

        "Excuse me miss..."

        "Miss Frazier."

"Miss Frazier. Please could you point my friend and I in the direction of the school office?" Beth enquired.
