Wow, it's been awhile since I was on this account. I figured I should go ahead and update this. Well enjoy!

Suzuki's POV
I tapped my foot as I sat waiting on the girl to wake up, the nurse said she should wake sometime soon. What was taking so long? The door started to open, causing me to tense up. My hand hovered above my weapons pouch, as the new arrival walked in. I breathed out an inaudible sigh of relief. My face broke out into a grin, "Kiba! What are you doing here? I was going to come by the house this evening." I moved to hug him, but the look on his face stopped me, "Kiba? What's the matter?" My brother didn't exactly look thrilled to see me. He asked, "You left." I nodded, the smile fading off my face, "I did." He sat down beside me, Akamaru instantly jumping into my lap. I scratched behind his ears, "If you care to listen, I can explain myself." Kiba was still all frowns, "Looks like Akamaru forgave you easy enough. So where did you go?" I trained my eyes on a spot in Akamaru's back, "I can't tell you, the information is classified. It was an S-Rank mission." Kiba protested, "You're still a genin! You shouldn't have been on a mission like that to begin with!" I looked up, "That's precisely why they asked me to go! Look I can't tell you everything, now will you let me tell you what little bit I can?" That managed to shut him up. I sighed, "I went undercover because this group would only take people with specials talents. I wasn't supposed to leave for another few years, but I was no longer able to contact the Leaf and if I don't contact every month or so..." I didn't want to tell him that there were a few times that I was almost announced to be a rogue ninja. Kiba didn't ask about the unfinished sentence, instead he motioned at the unconscious girl in the bed, "Who's she?" I looked over at her, she smelled almost cat-like but that's all I could sense about her. I shrugged, "I dunno. I found her on my way back to the village. I couldn't get any information out of her before she passed out due to her injuries. Those injuries though, they looked pretty severe." I've had similar injuries, though mine were from harsh training with a bunch of S-Ranked Criminals. Kiba frowned, "You don't know her, and you spend two days waiting for her to wake up? Why didn't you come home? Hana and Mom missed you." I snorted, "Mom missed me?" Kiba gave me a flat look, but my stomach caused him to snicker, "Eat much?" I stuck my tongue out at him, "Not really. Hospital food sucks." He chuckled, "Well let's go get some food, your little stray will still be here when we get back." I wrinkled my nose in distaste at the idea of leaving, but my stomach grumbled once more so I nodded, "Yeah, let's get some food. I've been dying for Ichiraku."
Noticing a familiar face, I bounced into the place happily, "Shika!" He paled, "Suzu, you're here." I nodded, "Yeah, just got back two days ago." Slowly the color flowed back to his face, "Where've you been the past year?" Kiba snorted, "Apparently that's classified information." I shot him a dirty look before sitting down beside my old friend, "I've been here and there, so why don't you catch me up on what's been going on? You guys have to have graduated from the academy by now, and I'm sure there had to have been some pretty interesting rumors about my early gradation and sudden disappearance." Shikamaru nodded, "You can bet on that. Most of those fan girls figured you had dropped out, but then it was announced that you had already graduated. I swear it almost caused a riot." Kiba nodded, "That's not all, a few of the others demanded to be allowed to take their exams early as well. It didn't go so well for them." I nodded, "That was expected, I only graduated for sake of the mission."
I whirled around, kunai instantly at the throat of my surprise 'attacker', "Don't even try it." My old friend gulped, "Well you've certainly changed, Suzuki." I smirked, "Well I haven't been slacking on my training, if that's what you mean. So Naruto I do believe you're... What do you Anbu goons want?" I looked over Naruto's shoulder, an irritated expression crossing my face. The Anbu simply crossed their arms, "Suzuki Inuzuka? The Hokage wants to see you." I groaned, "I haven't even had time to eat." When they didn't answer, I sighed, "Whatever, let's go then."
It had been a pretty quiet walk over, these Anbu goons aren't the best conversationalists. I walked into the Hokage's office, "You wanted to see me, Lord Hokage?" The Third smiled warmly at me, "Sit down, Suzuki. Tell me about your mission." I sat in the window sill, "I don't know why you want to hear about it, I included all the information in my reports." The old man chuckled, "Yes, that's true. But I want you to tell me about it, not as a shinobi but how you thought about it as a person. Surely it couldn't have been an easy thing to leave your home and all of your family and friends behind." I grimaced, "It wasn't exactly my dream to have my first mission take a whole year. But I don't know, the mission actually wasn't that bad. Sure the training they put me through was hard and S-Rank Criminals aren't exactly well known for being good company, but once I got used to the conditions I actually found the mission wasn't as bad as I thought it would be." In truth, I had actually grown fond of the members well for the most part. I really couldn't stand Kakazu and all I did was argue with Hidan and Sasori. But when I was on missions with them, they all had my back. I glanced down at the ring that I had hijacked from Deidara but never gave back. He had gotten a new one anyways. The Hokage nodded, "That's good. It means you are good at adjusting to new things. I hate to ask this of you, but this unknown girl in the hospital will need someone to depend on. Will you take her under your wing while she is around?" I nodded cheerfully, "Well I've always enjoyed taking care of strays, this girl is no different. I'll take care of her, Lord Hokage." Just then one of the Anbu appeared, "Lord Hokage, the girl is awake now." My eyes widened, she's awake. Well damn, I wanted to be there when she woke up.
