“That's not very polite.” The familiar voice says. I finally wake up enough to know who it is.
“Chance what are you doing here?”
“I wanted to see you and tell you you need to escape this place.”
“No I don't. Tomorrow Jordan is going to guide me out of the forest.”
Chance laughs. “You really believe that? Brice thinks your his soul mate. Jordan has to follow Brice's orders so tomorrow and from then on you will be forced to stay here.” I look at him confused.
He sighs. “A soul mate is a werewolf belief that two people have part of the other soul so they are made for each other. I got to go now I have to um well, I'll tell you the truth. I haven't had any blood today and if I stay here for even another minute I might hurt you. Bye.” Chance disappears. I don't know why but I trust Chance. I change into one of the outfits Brice must of dropped off when I was sleeping. Then I jump out the window. Luckily, the room I was on the first floor so I got out without a scratch. I walked quietly away until I get far enough away then I sprint towards the forest. I run deeper then stop to catch my breath. A twig breaks behind me. Someone comes out of the bushes and approaches me.
“Jordan! Never sneak up on me like that! You almost gave me a heart attack at 16!”
“Winter! You can't go into the forest at night! Night is when werewolves hunt! What were you thinking?” Jordan scolded.
“I was thinking since Brice thought I am his soul mate he wouldn't allow me to leave in the morning!” I start walking away from Jordan.
“Winter.” I turn around to Jordan. “I promised I would help you get out of this forest and I keep true to my word. I'm sorry.” He put on a sheepish grin. I run up to him and hug him.
“You're forgiven.” I whisper in his ear. I let go of Jordan but he doesn't let go of me. Instead he kisses me. Whoa! I was not expecting that! “Um Jordan, I kind of only like you in a best friend kind of way...” I say with a blush when he drops me.
“oh.” He blushes.
“Let's start walking.”
“Agreed.”
I follow him in an awkward silence. A twig breaks.
“Jordan do you have to step on every twig?” I ask annoyed.
“Actually that wasn't me.” We share a nervous look. A tall dude steps in front of us.
“Winter Dast?”the tall guy asks.
“Who's asking?”
“I'll take that as a yes.” The stranger tried to grab me but Jordan pushed me into a tree as lightly as possible.
“Don't you touch her.” Jordan growled possessively. Jordan changes into his wolf form. Then the tall stranger shifts into a wolf too. Whoa. I didn't see that coming. The stranger throws Jordan into a tree. As far as I can tell Jordan is unconscious. I've got to do something! I get up then run barely in front of the tall dude. At the last second I jump in between the stranger and Jordan. I fall into darkness as the pain erupts through my body.

I pick up Winter and rush her to my 2010 Hummer. (my dream car in real life) Once I get there I take out the massage table and first aid kit. I lay Winter carefully on the massage table with her back facing up. I stitch the large wound together hoping she didn't lose too much blood. Once I was done I layed Winter in the backseat of the car. Then I put the first aid kit and the massage table in the trunk. Once I got in the front seat I adjusted the mirror so I could see the girl. She is so innocent and clueless. If it weren't for some wizard prophecy she would be home with her family who are now gone. My phone vibrates in my pocket. I pick it up.
