“I see how you think Winter is 'special'.” Ryan states once we are away from the car.

“Brandon, Ryan, I decided I want to keep the girl.” I respond.

“Too bad.” Brandon replies venom coating each word. Well, I'd be mad too if I saw the guy I payed to get someone kissing the target. Brandon makes me topple forward using magic.

“Brandon! Don't touch him!”

“Winter I told you to stay in the car!” I tell her. This can't be happening! Ryan grabs her around the waist. Brandon approaches me.

“You will drive away from here and never look for Winter. If you do Winter will get hurt.” Brandon whispers in my ear.

“You wouldn't dare!” I growl as quietly as possible.

“Wouldn't I?” He turns to Ryan and nods. Ryan takes off the cast from Winter's arm and twists her wrist into an odd position. Winter yelps a little in pain. That poor little angel.

“Fine!” I get up and walk to the car.

“Brandon! Don't leave me here! Please.” Her voice breaks a little as she cries.

'I love you Winter. I'm leaving you for your own good.' I telepathically tell her. I hop into the car and drive away hoping I made the right decision. Will Winter be okay without protection?

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

He left. After all we've been through he left. He didn't even listen to me. I sob like a five year old lost in a big building filled with people. “Gosh Winter, at least I didn't break your other arm. You are being a baby about it.” Ryan says in a stop-being-such-a-drama-queen kind of tone of voice. My wrist has numbed out by now. It's my heart that's broken worse. Ryan is not holding on to me now so I try to bolt away from the boys. I start running away but then I am suddenly paralyzed in place. Brandon and Ryan stroll over to me.

“Do you like the new trick I learned?” Brandon asked me. “Now that you have finally joined us we can search for the necklace.”

“I already found it.” I say.

“Where is it?” Brandon asked.

“I hid it.”

“I'll ask again. Where is it?” Brandon questioned in a fierce tone that promised he would do anything to get the necklace.

“I don't remember where. I do remember I hid it sometime after I last saw you. Before this time that is...”

“Fine. Whoever has the necklace will be tortured after we find it.”Brandon replies.

“Fine.” Not fine. Totally not fine. Brandon drags me to his car and makes me get in the backseat. The guys get in the front.“Don't even try to escape like last time. I put the child lock on.” Brandon said with a smug smile. I just sighed. After a few minutes we arrive at Lance's house. Ryan walks to the front door while Brandon grabs me by my right wrist like I'm five. Ryan knocks on the door. Lance appears in the door way. He looks like he's been crying. As soon as he sees me he hugs me.

“I thought you were dead.” His voice sounded relieved and happy. Ryan shoots Brandon a questioning glance. “Were you going to die because of you wanted to get away from me?” Lance asks me looking like he was about to cry again.

“No. I just wanted to be with my family.” I whisper truthfully to Lance. Brandon pulls me and Lance apart.

“Lance we came here to ask you a question. Once you answer we're leaving. Do you have the necklace from the prophecy?” Ryan interrogates Lance until he is sure Lance does not have the necklace. Ryan is slowly walking to the car behind Brandon. Right before we get in the car I knee Brandon in every males weakness. He sinks to the ground like the titanic. I take off running towards the forest that Jordan and his pack live in. I stop to catch my breath about half way to his house. A twig breaks.

“Jordan?” I hope. Silence. “Jordan this isn't-” I'm cut off by a werewolf in it's wolf form pouncing on me.

“What's a pretty little girl doing in a forest alone?”

“I-i am going to Jordan's; a beta of a pack in these woods; house.”

The wolf laughs. “You think I care about that pack? Brice and Jordan banished me from the pack many years ago. Follow me girl or I'll kill you right now. What's your name?”

“Wendy.” I should of thought of a better fake name.

“Well Wendy, we are going to visit the pack house and you are going to be silent got it?” I nod. A couple minutes later and we are at the pack house. It's just like I remember it from a couple days ago. The wolf and I walk into the house. The only people I recognize from the last time I was here are Brice and Jordan. They are playing Sorry in the corner of the room. The werewolf walked over to them and I follow him. Jordan looks up from their game first.

“Shane, we've already told you, you aren't getting back in the pack.” Jordan scowls at Shane.

Shane chuckles darkly. “That wasn't what I wanted. I want to be alpha of this pack.”

This time Brice laughs. “That's a good joke Shane, but that wouldn't happen even if I died.”

“Really? I've found something to change your mind in the forest.” He makes me stand in front of him. I wave shyly. Brice and Jordan's eyes widen. “All you have to do is make me alpha and then you get the girl back.” Brice and Jordan walk away and start discussing. From the bits I could hear from Jordan and Brice arguing it sounded like Jordan was willing to save me and Brice wanted what was best for the pack.

“Winter, it sounds like I might get to keep you.” Shane smiles evilly at me and I try to run. His hand grips around my waist tightly. “You will behave yourself and remain right where you are.” He growled in my ear. A second later Brice and Jordan are back. “What's your final decision?” He smirked at them. I look at the two guys who both care about me.
