A Very Merry Christmas

A/N: This is the first seasonal one shot I've ever written, so go easy on me. It's quite long, but divided into sections so hopefully it won't feel as long. I have no plans to write any chaptered fics off of this, but maybe some more one shots for some other holidays. I don't know, we'll have to see. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it!

I woke up early on Christmas morning, and as always, I was impatient to start the day. Alex was still fast asleep next to me, and as peaceful as he looked, I couldn't help but wake him, shaking him roughly.

"Come on Alex! It's Christmas!" I yelled. His eyes flickered open, and he groaned loudly.
"Jack, what time is it?" I peered at the alarm clock on the bedside table behind him.
"Half six... We have a whole six and a half hours until Kellin, Vic, Jenna and Tay with Luke and Callum get here, and Cassadee told all four of us that we need to be up early, so that we can get ready and do the presents between the six of us. I got you two, but I want you to open one now." Alex raised his eyebrows at my babble, clearly wanting to go back to sleep, but now curious about what I wanted to give him.
"Fine. But I don't want to get out of bed until eight." I nodded, eager to go and get the main present I'd got him.
"I'll be back in a minute, I just need to get the first present. Just stay here, and close your eyes when I come back. Sit on the edge of the bed and wait for me." I climbed out of bed, and left the room. I had the small box that present was in hidden in the safe I had in my half our office space. It was buried underneath some paperwork, so that Alex wouldn't see it if I was getting something out of my safe.

Soon, I had the small box in my hand, and had got back to the door of our bedroom.
"Are you sat on the edge of the bed?"
"Yes. I'll close my eyes like you told me." I smiled, nervous of what I was about to do, then opened the door and went and knelt down in front of my gorgeous boyfriend of seven years. Then, I took his hand, and pressed the box into his hand. There was no turning back now, but I wanted to go through with it anyway.
"You can open it now." He opened his eyes and unwrapped the little black box, which could decide the rest of our lives. Then he opened the box itself, and gasped. Now was time for the speech I had prepared. "Alex, I have loved you with all my heart for the last seven years and three months. I would have asked you years ago, apart from I couldn't have asked you for this. Alex, will you make me the happiest man alive, by doing me the honour of marrying me?" He just looked at me, surprise written across his face, then his eyes flicked back down to the small ring that I had presented him with.
"Yes. Jack, of course I'll marry you." I took the box off of him, and took the ring out to show that it was threaded onto a chain.
"I didn't know if you'd want it on your finger, or on a necklace around your neck. So I made it so that you can have it either way. There's a second one under the cushion, I thought we could match." Alex just leaned down and kissed me softly.
"You are so thoughtful, let's have them around our necks." I unclasped the chain, and put it around his neck. He then took the second one out from underneath the cushion that had held the first, and put it around my neck. "Now come back to bed, my wonderful fiancée."

We lay in bed for another hour, just cuddled up together, discussing what we could do for our wedding. Our idea was to keep it small and sweet, just our closest friends and family. It was only when we heard sounds of movement from the bedroom above, which was shared by Cassadee and Rian that we got up properly. We went downstairs in our dressing gowns, just in time to meet Cassadee coming out of the kitchen with a mug of coffee.
"Morning boys. It's good to see you're up and ready to do our presents, before we do breakfast and get everything ready. How long have you been awake?" I exchanged a smile with Alex, before answering.
"I woke up about an hour and ten minutes ago, and then woke Alex up immediately." Rian came out of the kitchen and joined us in the spacious hallway, holding a steaming cup of hot chocolate.
"Yes, Jack decided to surprise me at half past six this morning."
"Surprise you?" I nodded, knowing what Alex was about to say.
"Yes. With this." He got out the ring hanging around his neck, and Cassadee screamed at the sight.
"Are you two? Ae you telling me? Wait... You proposed to him?" I nodded, earning another piercing scream. "Oh my God YOU'RE GETTING MARRIED!" Rian just looked happy, stood sipping hot chocolate.
"Yes, Jack got down on one... Well actually, down on two knees but he proposed to me. Jack, show them just how thoughtful you were in buying me a ring." I found the chain sat around my neck, and picked it out of my dressing gown to show Cassadee how well I had done. "He got two identical, each with a chain so that I could decide whether we should wear them around our necks or on our fingers. We can change it if we want to, but for now, we're going have them around our necks."
"You did well. Why didn't I know about this? Did you tell anyone?"
"No, I did it myself, so that we could surprise everyone."
